Sorry if this one has been done before:

I enter my daily "honda civic $11-$2000" search. A list of 100 cars pops up on the first page. Roughly 40% of these listings are for a honda civic. The others range from Cadillacs to Mustangs to Subarus - and they're not folks looking to trade for a civic, they're people who put this E36 M3 in their listing:

some berkeleying time-murdering douchenozzle said: Key words-Saturn,focus,Toyota Mazda Nissan Honda , Tercell donk ,Altima, accord civic 626 929 miatia S U V,explorer, volkswagon, Cutlass, Lincoln, station wagon,low-rider ,economy car, Saturn L200,FORD FOCUS SE WAGON, S U V ,dodge,

Next time you do your favorite daily search, please flag a handful of these berkeleyers. Maybe they'll eventually get the hint.

They will never get the hint. I find that spammers view flagging as a way to determine how many hits their post is getting and aslo as an excuse to top post.

Explain top post. What is that?

When a post gets posted over and over so that it remains near the top of the page and gets more views.

Ever see a CL list add with the keyword bloat longer than the actual add? Good thing I can't strangle with electrons.

Quick tip (works for FleaBay, too), put a minus sign in front of the words you don't want. So, search for:

honda civic -cadillac -focus -donk

Granted, it will take some effort, but then just save the results as a bookmark and you only have to enter it once and can update as stuff pops up.

Edit, just tried CL Atlanta. I'd just keep my search to Civic, search titles only and only search individual, not dealers.
You might miss a few where the poster didn't put Civic in the title, but chances are, you probably don't want to deal with them anyway.....

FWIW, I did flag those idiots, though....

I flag them, I flag dealers as well.

If they're not smart enough to figure out that a Civic and a Caddy have next to nothing in common (except the number of tires) then they'll never figure out how to use Key Words propperly.

You'll need to log in to post.
