These films are older? I must be a geezer. I was thinking Erroll Flynn movies were older, these are contemporary!

I effin' love the movie Commando. I think it's probably my favorite action movie. Let's go down the check list:

-Tons of Arnold one-liners: Check.

-High body count with lots of ridiculous ways to die: Check.

-Cheesy villains with stupid gimmicks: Check.

-Wanton destruction in just about every scene: Check.

-Hilariously bad editing: Check.

I think my favorie part has to be the whole scene where he gets in the car chase with the bad guy Sully. Sully drives a classic yellow 911 with the whale tail, and Arnie commandeers a Sunbeam (maybe? I have no idea, and I should). He catches him after they both crash, utters some cheesy one liner as he is "holding" him over a cliff (the lines holding him up are clearly visible, LOL) and he lets him go. Then, he grabs the Porsche off its side and pushes it over and hops in. Here's the best part: The car is absolutely demolished when he flips it on its wheels, and then in the very next angle with the car going down a twisty road, the car is showroom PERFECT! Not a damn scratch on it!!!

Yeah, that movie is great!

Big fan of the following as well: -The Warriors (bonus points because the guy that plays Sully in Commando is also the guy who shoots Cyrus, LOL)

-Demolition Man (I still want to know WTF the Three Seashells did)

-Tango and Cash (Jack Palance made such a good villain)

-Stalag 17 (more of a thriller, but still a classic)

-Enemy Mine (Zamis!!!!!!!!!)

-Kelly's Heroes (great WWII flick)

-The Running Man (Gotta love that Maserati limo that Richard Dawson pulls up to his studio in, classy!)

-Total Recall (One word: Kuato!)

-Escape From New York (Issac Hayes's Caddy with the freakin' chandelier headlights gets me every time)

-Harley Davidson and the Malboro Man (it's so far fetched and ridiculous)

-The Die Hard movies are all pretty good (my faves are the first one and With A Vengance)

I could go on all day....

Just about any 70-80's Chuck Norris movie not followed by a II or III. Navy Seals. Roadhouse (Next of Kin's not bad either for a Swayze movie).

The Wild Bunch edited to add: I thought "Next of Kin" was a documentary about my family. Bullitt

I don't think it would fall under classic action but the newest Rambo is worth watching for all of the battle scenes and blood factor.

Pfft. Search the Shaw Bros. catalogue.

The first time I saw "Kill Bill", I finally realized just why I liked Tarentino movies. I saw that SB logo appear, and thought, "..oh course! He grew up watcing the same BMW E36 I did!"

This was before "infomercials", when TV stations put old movies on the air overnight.
