So I just moved to the South East (KY) and this like this scene is huge down here (3 tracks in a 50 mile radius). But I need some more info and this is the place to go for any Motorsports advice...

So I guess this is a "Learn me" thread...

I know the first thing I need to do is go to a race, then talk to people and then talk some more...then go to another track and talk to them.

I have done some research and it looks cool but foreign to me, the entry price is right, the size is right (it really would be cool to be able to tow my "race car" behind my neon." They seem be a cool blend of adjust ability and simplicity...

So can you guys and gals show me some links or personal experience about the new form of racing to me?

When I was doing asphalt road course 4-stroke Briggs alcohol stock heavy (gotta love the clarity and brevity of karting classes) we thought the dirt oval guys were crazy due to the insane tire wars they were raging.

Things may have improved, and local tracks may have instituted some tire control measures hopefully - but back then they were shaving slicks and using all manner of toxic chemicals and people were going through 3 sets of tires a race and such.

If it's a spec tire deal it sounds like loads of fun. I certainly wish our little 1/4 mile, 10 turn course - Monrovia raceway - was still open. Good, cheap fun.
