I pulled a dumb-*** move and accidentally dumped about a cup of liquid grill grease on a new section of concrete tonight. Any tips to try to clean it up, so it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb for eternity? I have an old white towel on it now to begin soaking it up, and at least plan on getting some dish soap scrubbed into it in an hour or so.
They concrete I was poured about 4 months ago, and has a brushed texture if that matters. Only sealant on it was what the contractor sprayed as a curing agent when it was poured.
Don't scrub. Pour dawn on top of it in a thick coat and let it sit. The oils will float to the top.
A hot water pressure washer would probably do it.

Laundry detergent (I like Era, cause it's cheap) + denatured alcohol. It will pull even years old stains out
I like kitty litter and really grind it into the concrete by dancing all over it.
I've used brake clean and an air gun to remove automotive type grease from fresh concrete.
Interesting. Me being contrarian, I tend to rub gear oil into the surface of clean concrete for a rich, lustrous look.

Ah yes, the speedy dry shuffle. I remember it well. I've switched to PIG mats so I don't do that anymore.

That would take ALOT of oil on my side, as it's a 35' x 45' pad :-) !!!
I got a mystery oil based stain out of my terrazzo floor when I had them refinished using diatomaceous earth mix with gel paint stripper. Mix it into a thin paste( think pancake batter) and spread it on the stain, cover with a plastic bag, tape the edges down and let it sit for a day or so.

Agree, especially with the brushed texture. Mine is smooth.
I like the heavy application of Dawn idea, then follow with a hot water wash. Good luck!
Dawn dish soap, scrub until you can't scrub, then put the kids to work scrubbing. Then put sand, or diatomaceous earth would work as jgrewe said.
Ask me how I know how to get 30 gallons grease out of new concrete......

Seconding this. Brake clean works great on concrete.
Well, I tried the dish soap and scrub combo, and it worked wonderfully. It didn't hurt that it rained like a banshee yesterday morning, I suspect.
