We got some snow again last night, and the interstate was pretty slick coming in. Saw a few accidents, and I know that there were quite a few last night, as well.
Well, the co-worker and I were talking about traffic, and how some people just shouldn't be on the interstate when its slick out. I mentioned that if people would just look ahead, and be deliberate and smooth with their actions, we would see less accidents. That is when she mentioned, "Yeah, I remember when we were on the road a lot, and you were telling me about how to look ahead, and how it is important. I do that all the time now. I used to look right in front of me, but now I look down the road like you told me, and it has made driving in bad weather so much easier." Just thought it was cool that she was paying attention, and was trying to implement it in her driving.
Its stuff like this that makes me love instructing. (I instruct at two of our local roadcourses.) Different situation, obviously, but I love the "light bulb moment", when you can just see something click with a student, and they get it.
