I've seen a special on him. The fact that he ever became an actor is incredible. One of the good ones.

Very sad news, though. I really enjoy watching Columbo. Especially the last 10 minutes or so, where Peter Falk puts all his evidence together, and the murderer starts to sweat it out, realising they've been had.

The first movie I saw him in 1965 "The Great Race". He played the character of Max Meen, Professor Fate's sidekick. There were many close up shots of him with his glass eye deranged. He could get some very funny looks by doing that. 1965
