Watched BOB all day yesterday. Reading about the Paratroop corps is really interesting to me.

Keeping it simple for the natives All though elementary school we would have an assembly and a minute of silence at Eleven minuets past the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month. This was very very real for us growing up.

Almost everyone wears a poppy in the UK, I'm surprised it isn't more popular here.

These are some old photos that were headed for the garbage after a relative passed away. Someone in the family was in a unit that rescued and repaired downed tanks using the rather imposing M26 Dragon Wagon.

I was just there over the summer and was happy to see that a few members of the raid were still with us. The goblet collection is pretty cool.

In Canada it is Remembrance Day

For those that don't know this is the monument to the Canadians for taking Vimy Ridge in 1917. First time the Canadian Corps fought as a group in World War 1 and they did what numerous others had tried an failed to do, take Vimy Ridge from the Germans.
