I watched the Bud shootup, or the Busch clutch, or whatever last night. I'd prefer not to talk about the quality of the racing, or the NASCRAP party line around here, although I'm pretty sure there might be a couple of small comments show up....
The shootout last night was criminal in the length of its commercial breaks. In Canada, we get F1 broadcasts from BBC on TSN, and since the BBC has no commercial breaks, TSN shrinks the race down to the corner of the screen, and continues to broadcast it through the commercial. They gotta be able to come up with some technology that wouldn't have me get up from the front of the TV in the middle of the race to go to the berkeleying grocery store like I did last night.

The race was on while channel-surfing last night.
Yes, the extra (and extended) commercial breaks were annoying, but listening to the announcers analyzing (ad infinitum) the multitude of caution-incidents would have been MUCH worse.
A remote (with a functioning "mute" button) and beer are always necessary when watching anything Nascar.
Just sayin............
Shows have gotten shorter and commercial breaks have gotten longer.
Soon we'll be watching a half hour show in an hour time frame.
I believe a 30 minute tv show is 22 minutes now. per observations of episodes on Hulu / CastTv etc that are commercial free
In reply to Grtechguy:
Most hour long shows are actually 40-45 minutes.
eventually somebody will realise you can just show an hour long commercial.. wait...

Well, they need all those commercials since there's no ads on the cars, track walls, or drunken idiots in the stands
