Most people know one or will eventually. Not talking run of the mill BS'ing as hunting, fishing, horsepower, chasing skirts etc. stories go.
My first recollection was about forty years ago in HS. Maybe I was lucky not having to deal w/ chronic liars over the years each and every day, most were just in passing and I could walk away after the slightest BS attack. Well, my luck must have run out.
About a year ago we had a new guy hired in the shop, we waited over a year for some new blood as our gang was getting older, undermanned and over worked so this is the future here. Didn't take long to figure out he bullE36 M3ted his way in. He laid it on so heavy and often nobody could keep up w/ it, if anything they fed that troll as if in amusement.
Compulsive lying was continuous though whether cars, engines, 4X4's, quads, women, you name it etc. Old enough to know better, nuff said, I'd just pick up and walk away when the lies started, put the word out to not feed that troll. I think he finally realized I had his number and wouldn't put up w/ that BS. He actually made a conscious effort I noticed to restrain himself w/ the lies when talking w/ me. He ain't a bad guy at all, capable, helluva worker, good trainee material fwiw, schmooze the best BTW. What I fail to realize is why a mostly capable guy would have to compulsively lie/ BS about every facet of his life. I came to the conclusion that I could only believe maybe 10 % of anything he ever claimed.
That E36 M3 just berkeleys my mind up, hence this post.
Obviously, there must be many issues deeper than any co-workers can sort out but it doesn't make our working lives any easier. We don't need this kinda E36 M3.
Recently walked away from all that clusterberkeley bullE36 M3 w/ a new dream job. Part II to come. And... there's another one.
Need a break now. Geezus.
