Hey guys, new machine has Windows 7 installed. Liking it better than Vista, but for some reason, the damn thing won't let me set a random pic from the internet as wallpaper. I click on the image, click "Set as Background", and get an "Access is denied." error. Even on pics I've used before.
Please save my monitor from an early death at the sole of my shoe..

You can't make the pics from the HOT WIFE thread your wall paper. are you logged in as administrator?
Actually, I'm trying Le Mans posters because I'm stoked that the race is this weekend. I haven't posted up my girl over there because I haven't figured out how to con her into marrying me yet (we've been together 4yrs, but she's had a seriously bad previous experience).

I thought that if I only had one user on this OS, that I'd automatically be the admin whenever I logged in. Am I incorrect?
Nope. Win 7 makes you jump through some hoops to become the proper admin of a box. Check out some docs on access control.

I wish she'd say yes. She's really gunshy about it..can't really say why, but she's got a good reason for it.
And thanks for the help!
It doesn't happen to be Windows 7 Starter, does it?

Yeah, it is...or one of the other primitive versions of it. Probably the reason the damn thing was so cheap in the first place. When I try to get to secpol.msc, it tells me that the thing doesn't exist.
lol win7 starter locks you out of changing backgrounds... I know Asus netbooks installed a program to work around that... so i'm sure there are ways... but it's not made to be easy...
