A buddy of mine has had a hard time selling a used wedding ring. I advised him to post on CL as a possible trade for a vehicle which could then be sold thereby converting to cash.
He has been presented with a Suzuki Grand Viatra shown in this posting.

The car is about 1.5 hours away so before investing the time to see it I thought I would ask around here...
How easy do you think it will be to unload a V6 manual trans Vitara?
Is there any desirability of these in the Rock Climber community? If yes, where might I find that buyer?
Please give me your opinion of this trade?
My buddies goal is to get as close to $2k out of this ring/trade/sale.
There's not a whole lot of interest from the offroad community as a whole. They're big, heavy and have lots of low-hanging bodywork. They're not bad as an SUV but not great offroaders.
But at the same time a car is a lot more useful then a silly old ring.

It's been on Craigslist for 2 weeks, for $2000 or best offer and hasn't sold. Why would changing who has it for sale make it sell quicker and/or for more?
In my opinion because it is in Ohio and it has not snowed yet. After the first snow of the year he could get 3 or 4. Growing up in Ohio the crap 4x4's people get high money for after the first snow is just sad.

Oh and
VEHICLE ISSUES:
3). [AIR CONDITIONING DOESN'T WORK. (BELIEVE IT NEEDS A COMPRESSOR)
Boy, that's a unicorn. Actually, that's not true. People are excited to see a unicorn. That car's just something unusual. IIRC, that's a descendant of the Mazda KL motor...but I could be wrong.
Needs too much work for a $2k car. If someone here wanted that exact car it wouldn't be a bad deal, but someone with around $2k to spend on a car isn't going to want to buy tires for $500, a windshield for $200, spend $100 on an alignment, etc.
I want it. I want it sooooo friggin bad. A 5-spd GV 4wd? That is an awesome little bugger. Ignore the naysayers, it will do just fine as an offroader.... I had ours offraod plenty.

Anyone have any specific ownership experience with these? Are they total garbage? Decent? What say ye?!
No personal experience but the guys over on ExPo sure have fun with them.

My second cousin has been driving one for quite a few years. He routinely takes it in the woods, albeit mostly fire lanes. I don't think he's ever had a problem with it.
