I've seen the cars sitting out in front of my local Costco when I go in to get a rotisserie chicken, milk and eggs before, but I had no idea they moved so many of them.

i believe if they get any kickback for completed sale based on the referral, they are counted as part of the selling process, regardless if they dealt the car.

Maybe the same rules, but for very different reasons.
Costco would be another franchise selling cars, and not an OEM trying to direct sell their cars.
They also do motorcycles. Sadly no dealers in the Midwest it appears
