Keep hydrated and be as active as your body allows. Long hot showers. OJ. Get well soon Don.
Saturday AM update: Temp 99, still a sore throat and some coughing. It feels like the congestion in my chest is working its way out (gross!) Overall I feel pretty good, so it seems like I'm on the down side of this now. Fortunately I am well stocked with food and the worst is the forced inactivity. I really appreciate the support and well wishes.
Mine didn't get bad til day 7, then I spent three weeks in bed pretty much. My wife just had flu like symptoms for a nine days. I'm pulling for you, it can be miserable.
Early on for me. I was knocked out for 2 days in bed, something that never happens. All I could do was get up and get a drink from the bathroom faucet. The next month + was hell, felt like I had COPD, I could inhale fully but felt like I was drowning. I'm still not right 23 months later.
A friend just got out of an induced coma, long road ahead.
Good luck brother. COVIDs synonym is THE SUCK.
Get well soon. Several of my former coworkers have gotten breakthrough Covid. One said it was like a cold, another said it was like the flu followed by a cold. A neighbor got pretty sick from it, but his daughter tested positive and never showed any symptoms. It's a strange disease for sure.

Dude, hate to hear that. I have small struggles 5 weeks after I got better. I just don't have full energy.
I feel very fortunate. When it went though our household, 2 of my boys had fevers in the 99-100 range.
The rest of us lost Taste and Smell for a few days.
The stories I've heard from friends, I wouldn't wish on enemies.
Sunday update: Temp normal, throat less sore and less coughing. Still feel listless, but not really feeling sick. I hope this trend continues.
Monday update: Lot's of coughing overnight, but it feels like my chest is loosening up. Temp 99.4 this morning, but I don't feel too bad. This is now 7 days in. The good news is that I am not getting any sicker.

about day 7 this time around I was feeling normal-ish. First time around day 7 was the day I finally broke the fever. The aches hit hard about then too.
Day 11 here and back to work. Wiped out already but I'm doing it.

Keep the good news coming!
Yes this. We need more good news around here. I am glad you're feeling better.

Glad it sounds like you're on the up and up!
A note for all GRM'ers. Get an O2 monitor, you can get one for $20 from Amazon. That's the most important thing to monitor with this crazyiness.
If your O2 level gets around 90% or lower, you need to get your ass to the ER ASAP.

My wife hit 70's/80's one night and started acting goofy and her sister the nurse told me to get her to the ER. She spent 6 days in the hospital. Home now and getting better.
That tool probably saved her life.

I got my dad a couple when he came home, they work great.
He was at 79 when we got him to the hospital too, not good at all.
I agree, folks should have a pulse ox at home. The important thing to know about Covid is when it goes downhill, it goes extremely quickly. In the hospital, one minute you're having a conversation with someone on a nasal cannula, and the next they're getting intubated.
Also if your O2 saturation drops it's probably best to call 911 rather than drive to the hospital.
Glad to hear you getting better sir, hang in there. I have to ask, as this is GRM, have you used your downtime to hatch a new automotive project?

This is exactly how mine progressed as well. 99.4 is NOT a fever, FYI. Just want to clarify tht the CDC consitutes a fever as anything 100.3 for Covid-related purposes.
Tuesday AM: Temp is 98.5, still coughing but chest doesn't feel as tight. Overall I am feeling almost normal, but not well enough to be working on the race car. Another day or two with no symptoms and and I should be fit to be seen in public. Thanks to all for the well wishes and concern, it has been very welcome!

That's the best news I've heard all week!

I'm pretty sure O2 monitors are for sale at lots of pharmacies too.
Oh yeah, they definitely are. I was just throwing that out in case someone didn't want to go out in public if they were worried about getting sick or spreading it if they are sick.
