The skinny fur covered kind, not the modern Ford V8 kind. A few were yapping away when I got home a few minutes ago. I didn't see them but they were loud and close enough that they stopped making noise when I slammed the car door shut. I know they've been in the area but have only seen one or two at a time loping past in the distance, never a bunch in one place this close to the adjacent swanky neighborhood. Hide your babies and small dogs, residents of Lake Sherwood subdivision.

Saw a fox run across the road on my way to work a few mornings ago too. That was cool.

What local wildlife do you deal with?

The local coyotes killed all the turkeys across the street from my house a few weeks ago. The sound was horrible. I don't like coyotes. They look like homeless foxes.

Lots of deer around here.

I had bobcat living on my property a few years back. Very cool cat. He kept the coyotes away.

Racoon. I think it took down three-quarters of a cat in my back yard.

I have a 20 acre wetland next to my house with a fire station across the street. Almost every night when the sirens go off the local coyote pack decides to sing along.

the only trouble with tourists.. just because there is a "tourist season" does not mean we can bag them

Just moved, so I'll have to find out what's out here at my new house besides squirrels and birds.

In Covington, there were squirrels, birds, white tailed deer, armadillos, possums (didn't see those too often except as roadkill), and rabbits. There were lots of frogs in our yard too. There were probably racoons, but they were too secretive. I once found a snapping turtle too.

I'm in the minority of people that like coyotes I think, though I've never lived anywhere that I've had to deal with them on a regular basis.

I currently live in a vacuum of wildlife, it's kind of depressing as I've previously lived places where I'd see everything to anoles, bald eagles, otters, black bear, white tail deer, ground hogs, osprey, peloquins, rabbits, chipmunks and 3 types of hawks on the property.

Coon, 'possum, fox, birds of prey, vultures, deer, woodpeckers, occasional armadillo (not enough dirt here), meth-heads, coyote, turtles, rabbits, feral cats, squirrels, rats, mice, moles (the outside cat liked to bring home dead baby moles before she retired.) Some more than others. Neighbor saw bear sign once, like a giant bolder flipped over and tracks as it was looking for grub. I live in the woods.

This. They're basically pests around here but that doesn't stop people from putting bait out just for the purpose of feeding them because they like seeing them in their yards for some reason. So in the winter they congregate around the subdivisions and busy roads

That pulls them away from the hunting area too which doesn't help population control.

SoFla here, so lots of exotics. Gators, pythons, tegu lizards, rats, all kinds of poisonous snakes. Wife's daughter came across a coral snake in her bathroom. Oh, we got bugs, too. Really neat spiders. Then there are the pesky non-English speaking tourists.

I've had rabbits under my deck and see deer picking over the field I pass on my way home every night. I wish you dang Canadians would take your geese back, they're the real nuisance.

Here in the wilds outside downtown Richmond, VA, I see wild turkey, bald eagles, foxes, deer, raccoons, squirrels, and bunny rabbits. At night, opossums and skunks play chicken with cars and often lose.

Coyotes, raccons, possums, squirrel are the kill on site ones, otherwise we have several types of birds of prey, rodents, wild cats, bobcats, suicidal deer, and there was a mountain lion living around here for about 4 years until a hunter in a deer blind finally killed it. I miss that thing, kept the coyote population down.

There are black bear where I live. I fell asleep on the couch one night and woke up to hear one snuffling at the window beside the couch. The next morning I found bear poo on the front porch. I found bear poo on the back porch twice. There's an apple orchard on the place and any year there's a good crop the bear come down to help themselves. I've come home late a few times with no flashlight and heard them snapping their teeth as a warning when I got out of the car. Makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up.

We have Coyotes, occasionally deer and sometimes we can see some wild horses from the house. They're not exactly in the back yard, but in the mountain behind the development.

According to one of my neighbours we used to have a mountain lion around here, too, but nobody's spotted it last year.

You know how to tell black bear poo from grizzly bear poo, right?

Deer, Coyotes, Armadillos, Snakes, cattle, Bats, Californians, and squirrels.

I live on the edge of the city near a 1600 Acre ranch so we get a lot of visitors from that land. They hop the fences and I have had a few that decided to go on runs with me. Makes things interesting.
