I have finally succumb to the Blackberry. It was finally detrimental to my work for me to be without email contact while traveling to car shows. My company picks up the tab for it, but until now I have been able to easily say "work is there, home is here, and ne'er the twain meet." Those days are over. I told my wife to smack me the first time I climb out of bed to check an incoming email.
We are so Mass eMailing you tomorrow at 4:00am!

I am pretty sure IT has me locked out of any OS updates. I was able to install Google Maps though.
Any tips on free useful apps?

My work gave me a crackberry when I joined 2 years ago. About every 6 months the crackberry admin has to get on my case because when you leave it turned off (dead) for more than a few months it drops off the system.
I carried it for the first few months, noone called, none of my email was critical enough to bother so it sits in my desk drawer and goes dead.
I am thinking about it , have nextel 2 way but i need to get more contact info for customers . The 100 dollar a month bill is what stops me now
Here is where to go to get free and paid for Aps for your BB.

I'm double blackberried. A year ago my daughter gave me a blackberry pearl (mini blackberry) for x-mas. Then work gave me a bigger one. It's even got the overseas card in it. Came in handy when I was in Germany last fall. Kinda useless when I'm in the office but sure is extremely useful on the road, which I am quite a bit. The signature block on my work bb states "sent from my blackberry leash". Had "leashberry" for a while but it was frowned on by the boss. All the kids and I have them now. My wife is the only one without but english is a second language for her and she doesn't even have an email account.
I jumped the crackberry and went right to Palm
palm doesn't do corp. email instantly
Blackberry kills all for email, and does everything else well enough. I have had a Blackberry since October, and I am never going back. NEVER!
My "e", "d", enter, and blackberry key are broken on my Tour right now and its killing me! New keyboard is on the way, but I cant wait that long!

My wife (Realtor) got one several months ago. Verizon offered a buy one-get one free deal. I passed on it, as I couldn't justify the extra $30/month for the additional service fees. A few days ago, I get an email from my boss, asking if I want one. I travel a bunch and drag my computer, mostly to be able to keep from falling behind on emails, so yup, I'll take one please. Have fun, they are nice devices.

Count me as resisting. I was on a drive program last year and the company handed out Blackberry Pearls for the day (it was a scavenger hunt type thingy, all over Toronto). I was surprised at how much I wanted to keep the thing.
But... nothing irks me more than someone who's constantly checking theirs. At our AGM last fall, there were two of us at a table of 8 who weren't continually checking a BB throughout dinner. They're pretty rude little devices. Or let me put it this way... they provide opportunity for some people to be ruder.
I've had my 8330 for well over a year. I mostly love it, but there's no innovation happening in the BB world lately. I'm getting a Droid when my new every two comes up in September.
