Well, Spunky, my '96 Sentra died. Just died in the road, a block away from the house. No strange noises, just like the key was turned off. Considering that she had 250,000 miles, two bad tires, a strange noise in the engine, and a terrible interior, we decided, time to go, as is. No more money invested. Put an ad on CL at Noon, got the first call 15 minutes later. Guy said he would come by this afternoon with his mechanic. Came by at 7:00PM, sold it to him at an agreeable price. After all the horror stories about flaky CL buyers, I consider myself very happy. He says he is going to get a front plate that says "Spunky". Now I have to find my new Cherokee.
Congrats, assuming you were glad to see it go. Good luck on the search for a replacement.

You're a lucky guy then. I just had a numpty try to haggle me down to $1 on an item I'd posted for $3, and then decline when I said my price was firm. I bet he spends the difference every day at Tim Horton's. Rolley-eyes.
I've never had a bad experience when I've sold cars. Now, I get lots of spam, but no loosers like many experience.
I have always had very positive experiences on Craigslist, and no spam. Weird.
I've had very good experiences selling. Most recently about 2 weeks ago I posted a car at about noon on a Friday - had 3 serious inquiries right away and sold for $100 below asking price by 10 AM Saturday. Ad was deleted within 24 hours of posting. I disregarded exactly one flaky response and had no spam. Two years ago I sold an e36 in four hours on CL.
I have not been nearly as lucky trying to buy cars on CL.

i can't get a motherberkeleyer to respond to my inquiries about his '88 fiero formula that "needs work". nor can i get another motherberkeleyer to respond to my inquiries about a '95 saturn sw2 5-speed with a "broken stabilizer frame".
i always begin my craigslist responses with "i have cash, a trailer, and a flexible schedule." WTF more does a seller need?
