On Sunday evening, I found a car that had been posted on Craigslist less than two hours earlier. The seller had misspelled the name of the car, so I was certain that I had to be one of the first responders to his ad (email only).
He responded to my email 28 hours later. He said that the price was firm (fine), he had seven responses to the ad and that the first one who showed up with cash gets the car. I have four days off, cash and a trailer. But...he's not available until the weekend, when I will be away.
Damn.
See if he has a SWMBO that can be around. Offer money to hold it. Have a neighbor do the deal when he's away.
If there's a GRM will, there's a GRM way.
I would get in too much trouble with a "Buy It Now" button on CL, especially in Atlanta
He's out of state, but only an hour or two away. Exploring the SWMBO option.
Oh, OK. If he was local, I might have been able to help you out...

I appreciate the offer. I've got another email out to him him, so we'll see what happens. I'd obviously like to see it first, but it's cheap enough to take a chance. If it were a scam, he'd be much more anxious to take my money.
With as many scams and poor disclosures as there already are on CL, do you really want a Buy it Now button?
While it would be nice to jump on a deal, I wouldn't trust sending $ site unseen via CL.
