Might sound like dumb question, but searching for "crankshaft truing stand" or tool hasn't turned anything up.

I'm thinking about rebuild my son's single cylinder kart engines rather than paying a "tuner" to do it. I've seen in videos (and once in person) the truing stand the tuners use. The crank rests on 4 discs with a knife edge on them and then measure the trueness at the ends. I've they're not cheap (close to $1000), but since I don't know what to search for, I can't even confirm that. I'm assuming it's setup to be straight so you can use a dial indicator at each end and figure out how bent or tweaked the crank is.

Anyone on here know what I'm talking about? It's for a single cylinder crank, so it's not very big. Just trying to figure out the magic words.....

Crankshaft checking bench or crankshaft check tool.

Either term should bring up what you're looking for.

Could you just use regular machinist V-blocks?

Thanks. I assume it was just not typing in the right combination of words to find it.

Honestly, I don't know why this is "better" than v-blocks, yet. I just assumed there was a reason one of the best tuners in the sport used them instead of v-blocks. Right now, it's just an exercise in costing and trying to learn as rebuilds after every 6 hours of running starts to get expensive.
