Details to come...

Right now, I'm waiting for them to get my truck to me because they lost the berkeleying keys.

Been here an hour and a half just to pick it up...

They tried to rip me off.  They didn't fix the truck.

They want me to schedule another appointment and take time off work to program my other key.  I have politely asked them to give me two keys because I am not coming back...

Like I said, more details later.

Quick update....

I was there for 3 hours this morning just to pick up my non fixed truck....

I have a 2015 Silverado.  There was a recall in late 2019 for the brake assist failing due to failing vacuum pumps.  The recall involved a bit of programming change...

Needless to say it d idnt fix the problem on a lot of trucks.  So, gm extended the warranty on the vacuum pumps to 150k miles.  My truck lost assist on the brakes more and more over the last few weeks.

Took it to crew Chevy who said yep, we have seen this.  That will be 800$.  I said, uh, no there is an extended warranty based on special bulletin n18........   something or other (can find again of anybody wants it).  They called me back to say, "yeah, we see that.  We will talk with the manager to see if your truck qualifies....".

They call me at 515pm last night to say the truck is done.  They close at 530....

I went to pick it up when they open this morning.  At 730am.  They say great!  We didn't fix that, but it's 650$ for a trans flush and alignment. (Don't get me started on the alignment...  it was put by .05 degree apparently).

They said the reason they d idnt fix the brakes is because they couldn't recreate the issue.  However, they were gonna charge me 800$ to replace the vacuum pump.  When I asked (when I got there) why it wasn't covered, they said "well, we couldn't recreate the issue".  I asked " what was the 800$ you quoted me for to replace the vacuum pump and fix the issue for?"  They again just stated "we couldn't recreate the issue...  so, let me get this straight...  you called me to ask me to authorize 800$ to replace the vacuum pump to fix the issue (after your tech looked at it).  Then when I gave you a copy of the extended warranty on this particular part, you said you can't recreate the issue.....

Then, after 45 mins, they tell me they lost the keys....  I ask them to make a new key and fob.  They say sure.

Then, they come back 45 mins later and say that their key cutter broke and they sent somebody to get a key made in the next town over.... (ya know, the town where I live)...

After 3 hours plus, I leave with a still broken truck, and a new key and fob (which is an issue that I will get into in a minute).

The key and fob....  They wanted me to drop off the truck and make another appointment to get my other key and fob programmed.  I said "no.  I'm not coming back here.  I'm not taking more time off work so you can screw me even more.  Give me 2 keys and fob and I will be on my way."  The person I was speaking to says, I need to check with a manager on that.

Another 30 or so minutes goes by.  They give me the key (singular) to my truck.  They said that " we programmed the new key and left the old key in the truck memory so you can use either".

So, I said " great!  You said you left the key with the paperwork and it's possible that the cleaning people did something with it, correct?".  They said "yep, they maybe knocked it into the trash".  I said....." so, my key was on my paperwork with the vin and my home address, and you think some unknown person has it and that key and fob is still programmed to my truck?"

The person just walked away and left me with my truck and key...

I drove 15 minutes up the road (to the GMC dealer that cut my key).  I called GM customer care and filed a complaint on the way.

The GMC dealer (Mcelveen GMC and buick) listened to my story.   When I told them what the truck was doing, Bill, the service writer, said "hey, there is a special coverage for that...."

They got the truck in and fixed before 300pm today.

So, just to bring this full circle.

I got the truck around 530pm this afternoon.

Runs great!  Brakes are great!  The GMC dealer even washed it for me.

No charge.

100% will go to mcelveen GMC for service on my Chevy truck from now on.

Yes.

While I was sitting there for hours, I was thinking of ways to get back at them that didn't involve bail.

The best I came up with was to poop and "accidentally" get a good bit on my hand and casually wipe it on their desks.  I'd get some on the underside and seats as well.  Ya know, so the gift keeps on giving.

I figure that way I wouldn't get any accidental customers (or not many anyway).
