How would you cut out the middle of a photo and pull the two ends together? This is a pic on the computer.

Are you using photoshop? First thing you'd do is display layers, click on the photo to make an active layer out of it. Now you can select the area you want to get rid of, and delete it (note: I usually use the feather option to make the edges less abrupt and blend better). Then just drag the remaining elements to wherever you want them, when you're happy with the way it looks, flatten the photo.

So, use photoshop? I checked out the free 3.2 and it appeared to be too simple. What should I download? In this particular case all that is needed is a simple clean cut top to bottom and the two sides left will align almost perfectly.

Hey, Lesley, you coming back down to Tucson this year? No bugs here.

Hmmm... if you post the photo, I can do it for you. I didn't think there was a free Photoshop, I use version 7 and it's bundled with Adobe Creative Suite.

I hope to make it down again next year - I just loved it. The bugs were in Buffalo... ain't staying there again!

Yeah, post it. I have Photoshop as well, so one of use can do it.

On a side note, I have about a dozen different software programs that came free with different Digital Cameras. Each has the basic photo manipulation tools and each has one or two different really neat features. Before I had Photoshop, I would take a picture through two or three or four different programs to do different things. You can always try to download a few free programs until you get what you need.

paint.NET is also a great photo editing software for free if you want to try that. There are lots of plugins and help available from the forum on the site also. I have both paint.NET and photoshop and for my purposes they are about the same.

Another freebie to try is always GIMP

Are you talking about taking the whole vertical middle section out of a photo? What's wrong with MS Paint? Cut the middle out, select one of the remaining ends and bring it in. E.A.P. (Easy as Pie) Would that work?

I use MS Paint for all of my photo editing stuff. Of course, I only do real simple stuff and it's kinda hard, but it's fun!

Thanks for everyone's input. Lesley is going to crop it for me. Then my friend is adding 2 more gigabytes to the computer so it will handle some of the software I want to mess with. Which will add to my confusion "I'll be back".

You'll need to log in to post.
