This one speaks to me:
Your dad had a beard before you did. It wasn’t a trend or a fashion statement, it was pure function and unbridled masculinity. With his beard, he could fall a tree without picking up an axe. With your patchwork beard, the only thing you can do is attract ironic women who only like beards because they’ve been brain washed by PBR into thinking they’re attractive. You want to know how your dad got your mom? The power of his beard lured her in and then his silver tongue made her stay. So hipster, stop trying to grow your face in, you’re never going to kill it like dad.
Aaaaahahahahahaha
Hipsters are funny because most of them fall very easily into the stereotype of "hipster," yet they all hate stereotypes and all consider themselves "different." Yea, you're different, just like everybody else.
Also, that's a beard that we should all aspire to have. Well done, guy in that picture!

When I get lazy in the winter I'll go a while between beard trims. I've fluffed mine out to almost that big before. I haven't seen my chin since meeting my wife, for some reason she loves the beard. Know I know why.
That's a beard you can set your watch to.
It's hipster to make fun of hipsters!
I'll explain after I get back from American Apparel.
That is comical in a sort of pathetic way. Did someone get banned?

Now replace the word "hipsters" with "sheeple from miata.net" in the above paragraph...

Joey, beating this guy in the "stupid comment arms race" isnt necessarily a good thing.

I understand and LOL'd at both djhives and the Pimps posts. Let's not forget that this board was one on the "sheeple" originators and since that Miata.net reference is based on a foggy clairvoyant truth I will tend to agree with the statement. Not all Miata.net users are sheeple, not all GRM forum members have IQ's less than 75 but we know that they exist in both realms and we often get to broaden our days by poking those people with sticks.

this one...
Your dad played April fools day jokes before you did. Have you ever wondered why your mom worries so much about your safety and well being? It’s because your dad didn’t give a berkeley about it. He would have you sit under the kitchen sink next to the bleach until your mom would swing the cabinet door open. You two made a killer pair, mainly because you were small, fit into tight spaces, listened to him, and he didn’t care about you. So hipsters, today when you’re shaking your friends can of PBR up or swapping out a roommate’s Tom’s with tooth dye, remember this…
Your dad invented pranks, he’s the God Father, the alpha and omega, the Don Juan of foolery and you’re just clown shoes.

So does this site mean we've all gotta walk around naked, clean shaven, and without any brand association?
I think clothing style, or worrying about clothing style is pointless. What has been will be and will be has been.
I will continue shopping at Salvation Army and wearing whatever is cheap. Except for interviews.

Whats really funny is- Hipsters are rehashing the same crap Emo kids were about, and the Ravers before them, and the goths before them, and the punker kids before them, and the metalheads before them.....
On a different note, I aspire to that level of manliness. I can jump start a car with my beard, but I can't grow a moustache for squat.
In reply to mndsm:
Is that so wrong? I don't know so much about the Emos, Ravers and Hipsters, but a lot of punks and goths were pretty cool.

In reply to Otto_Maddox:
Nothin's wrong with any of it, not at all. I'm all for expressing yourself however yourself however you see fit- I just find the notion of purposely trying to stand out under the premise of "Being an individual" like hipsters do now, has been rehashed a million times before, and it's kind of ironic (I know, irony without the knowledge of it) that they try so hard to do this when it's been done a million times before by a million different groups. What's REALLY sad is, if you truly ARE different, and your own person, you're usually ostracised. Figure that one out.
Ok, does the fact that I wear what I want and I don't care what people think make me different or the same?
I'm confused
What's a hipster? I thought that was some kind of ladies' underwear?

Therein lies the problem. Your typical hipster cares about what he wears by NOT caring about what he wears. Makes it a point to look as dishevelled and vintage as possible, while paying through the roof for most items. Now a guy like you....... that probably makes you different, because you truly just don't care.

Not everyone with a scraggly splotchy beard is a complete tool.
I don't try to grow more than a goatee because it would look just slightly worse than the above.

I didn't care before it was cool to not care.
