Plus Amy E is smokin' hot .....I'd rather spend time at home with her and pursue my own racing ventures without suffering the brain trauma. He's done some road racing in other series. Didn't he run the Daytona 24 in a Corvette with his dad a few weeks before Sr. died? And didn't Jr. come within about half an hour of winning the 24 in a prototype (before the suspension fell off)?
I think he gave it up after that Corvette wreck at Sonoma, though.
Since he's retiring for health reasons, I doubt he'll race in any other series, either. Probably either end up in the broadcast booth or in an ownership/management role at Hendrick.
He has said that he'll likely run in a few Nationwide races next year, for his own team. I think it's probably a lure for sponsorship.
