Sabine is a Nurburgringmeister, for sure.
I've always liked watching Milka Duno race with Grand Am, but then I'm pretty effed up, so........
Pretty and Latina and fast and pretty and Latina and etc......

I guess if you are faster than her its fine to make judgments on her skills but I'll stick to the soft-porn jokes myself... 'cause I'm not sure I could top five an IRL car.
Aw, it's just a lil "monday morning quarterbacking". I'm sure even Duno or Sato (or even you, GPS-I haven't been in a race car in fifteen years) could lap me twice in an SCCA Regional...besides, I'm only talking because I think Danica could do it if she'd just focus. Maybe she needs this guy?

Ganassi and Penske. So Patrick was the best of the rest. I guess that just means every one in IRL sucks except for the Ganassi and Penske boys. Ever watch Dust to glory? Remember that line, any fool knows how to step on the gas and go fast but its knowing when to slow down. Patrick may not have outright speed, and does seem to get into bad luck but she's shown consistency in being top 10. AGR are no longer the top boys in IRL, Ganassi and Penske have taken over and kudos to her for putting on hell of a fight in a second tier car last year.
This. If shes actually a bad driver, then the rest of the field is worse than the noobs at the local autoX. Seriously, a second tier car not run by Ganassi or Penske that does give the top guys a run, and that's somehow a bad driver? Wow.
So when are you all going to be getting your IRL driver's check for beating Penske or Ganassi in a second tier car?
What I see is the typical internet knee-jerk reaction to someone/something popular in any genre, from racing to music to movies, etc. It's sooo predictable it's not even funny anymore. And of course, every car guy on every forum dates/marries the hottest supermodels, so they can put down any popular female in any genre, as someone thye're too good to touch.
Well, I'm not knee-jerking. That's what the "she's hot" claims are for. Sure, she can out drive me. So can Tony Stewart. And I don't want either of them in my house, or seated at a table with me for dinner.
As soon as they build a car for the husky gentlemen I'm in. I can't say anything about her in an Indy car because like most of the world I stopped watching after the split, but having seen her first few stock car races I can agree with the people saying she doesn't know what to do with the pedals or the steering wheel. She mostly complained that the car wasn't perfect and she wa uncomfortable. As soon as they could build her a car that handled perfectly she would do better.

And what I see is the typical internet assumption that because somebody is being criticized, the person doing the criticizing thinks they are better at the task in question. I've seen plenty of people say she's mediocre (I called her "midpack", which is true), a few have questioned her braking technique, but I haven't seen one single person say "Put me in that Dallara and I'd kick her butt".
She's a professional athlete. We are fans of her sport. We are allowed to criticize her skill and technique. Peyton Manning is about a million percent better quarterback than me, but I can still say he made a bad play when he threw that late interception in the Superbowl. And I'm sure he'd agree.

A BIG +1 for Kat.
I love her under-stated attractiveness and sense of humor, too. Like the interview (after her RA moment) where she admitted she was happy she emerged with "all her bits and pieces".
The woman has class and I'll wager she'd be further up the grid than Danica most any time they shared a track.
Danica patrick is not hot. Shes average at best and can look downright homely at times.
Stop the hot linking!
^ That's a good hotlink right there

Yes. . . .

Yes some more. . . .
[Yawn!] I don't know what the complaint is. Is she the best driver in IRL? probably not, but she's faster than any of the hotshoes at my local autocross. Is she as hot as a pin-up/centerfold? No, but she's still nice to look at in a swimsuit.
The fact that she appears to have the personality of an angry gnome doesn't affect me personally, so I say she should keep doing what she is doing.

I'm not comparing her to my ability. I am comparing her to her peers. She isn't on the same level... yet...

Well it seems you aren't doing that. She did beat a lot of drivers last year in IRL and the fact that the only people who beat her were from two teams indicates that she is a good driver. As far as her personality, if you were in a profession dominated by the other sex don't you think you might come off as a little pissed off. No I am no big fan but I have nothing against and she has done a lot to bring exposure to the sport (in all kinds of ways).
Not a huge fan of drag racing, but i am a huge fan of Ashley Force. Doesnt bring in the headlines like Danica though
Maybe I'm all wrong here, but that Cobra looks very real. Headers nicely discolored, cool wheels. And Danica looks a lot better in that pose than Tony Stewart would have. I can understand how the IRL drivers would complain about her significantly lighter weight would affect the cars, but would that mean anything in Nascrap?

definately better than danica..
For those of you making comments on her personality. How much of that is a) based on media b) based on what she says when the media slaps a mic in front of her and c) based on actual interaction.
I know people who have interacted with her, in fact was just talking to a friend of mine whose kid is a big fan of Danica. They had called Andretti Racing and Danica/Andretti sent them a whole bunch of goodies. That sure as hell doesn't seem like the person you guys keep talking about.
Stay in the media light long enough and you'll get cancerous.
And for everyone that brings up Milka Duno, she's a road block. She's a prime example of lots of money in a money talking game that isn't there because of driving abilities.

I either don't know much (a very real possibility) or we obviously didn't get the same feel for her stock car start.... (BTW the ARCA drivers LOVE her) what I heard was she admitting that the cars are so different from what she was accustomed to that she didn't know enough to even begin to tell her crew chief what might help him adjust the car to help her go faster
I saw some one who was a little tentative at times, wasn't very comfortable bump drafting, and someone that stayed out of trouble (for the most part) ... her run through the field after the flat tire was a pretty good example of the talent she has...+ I didn't hear any of the whining from her that we're accustomed to
I think that with enough seat time in a stock car she might actually be ok
