If you are staying on the beach, the Ocean Deck is a fun time. Good food, fantastic people-watching, and it's on the beach. They have live music pretty much every night as well.
Stonewood is a nice mid-priced restaurant if you'd like a fairly classy meal.
Riptides is also a good place for seafood / drinks. It's very close to the beach-- but not ON the beach like the Ocean Deck.
If you are looking to party, Seabreeze Ave. has a bunch of bars / nightclubs to explore. Robbie O'Connell's is a great Irish Pub with outstanding service, fun people, and a great vibe. It's extremely smoky though (they still allow smoking in non-restaurant bars in FL) If you go there.....tell them I sent you. (this will probably get you ridiculed or thrown out! )
There is great sushi on Seabreeze at Cafe Japon--- it's toward the river-side of the street, and it's laid-back, inexpensive and fantastic!
We have a minor-league baseball team that will be beginning their season today, and playing through the weekend. Head over to the mainland side to Jackie Robinson Park---- the games are a great time. They are playing on Saturday night--- and following the game there will be fireworks.
Your timing is also perfect---as this weekend there will be a big car-show on Beach St. (just over the International Speedway Blvd. bridge-- on the mainland side) In the past it's been a pretty impressive show, and this year it looks good too--- our friend Brian Redmond will be there!

If you like Thai food, Zen Bistro is on the mainland side (near Beach St.) It's fantastic!
If you are into nature, head over the Granada bridge (Rt 40) take your first right (Riverside Dr.) keep on following the road and it will bring you into Tomoka St. Park. Drive the "Loop" it's a beautiful drive through canopies of forest that open up into expansive marshland. Spend any amount of time there and there is a good chance you'll see manatee, dolphin, osprey, and all kinds of wildlife.

There's lots more to do and see--- but hopefully this helps. Daytona can be a great place, and it can be seedy as Hell. Unless you are a student of humanity gone wrong, stay away from Main St., stay away from International Speedway Blvd..... and especially stay away from the Shark Lounge!
Have fun! No doubt you will!
