Does this sound like a deal or no... 1968 volvo 122 wagon b18 motor - running condition 130k, auto trans - reverse not working. Some IPD upgrades, glass fenders - some surface rust - no holes - straight - plus 1965 122 wagon - stick - rotten front fenders, some inner fender cancer and rear wheel arch cancer - floors good, glass good, interior - kinda moldy. Additional b20 motor/trans, another b18 motor (disassembled) from a 65 122s, new clutch and parts to convert auto to stick and misc. boxes of bits - $1,950.

I believe you can find a good running less rusty 122s wagon for less than 3--maybe 4k. To me, that means that the car that you describe is worth 1500 or less.

$1950 isn't a bad price considering it has a parts car included that you could likely sell off once you're done with to recoup some of that cost. I once read on the internet that the tunnel for the auto trans cars is slightly larger, no idea if it's true or not. If it is, that would make future trans swaps a little bit easier on you. Really, on something like this the condition of the car(s), location, and your desire for a big project will determine if $1950 is a good deal. I paid more than that for a pair of duplicate 122 wagons (one running, one not) but it sounds like mine were also probably in better shape. Finally, "surface rust" "straight" "some cancer" etc. have widely varying definitions depending on who you're talking to.
If you want a 122 wagon, sounds like you should go take a look and see for yourself if they're worth the dough.

They are awesome, but rust can permeate. That being said, ask him for two separate receipts and race one in the 24 hours of lemons
