I have a cheap "safe" for some paperwork. It's probably useless. I don't have anything serious, social security cards, titles, mortgage information, passport, that sort of thing.
I desire a 1 hour UL listed fireproof and waterproof box*
A box does not need to be a safe. My kids could probably pick mine open with a dull butterknife. It seems even several hundred dollar units ship with cheap or useless biometric style entry. I'd actually prefer just a spot for a padlock so I could get something decent.
What does it take to buy something like this? It seems unnecessarily to find nonjunk that isn't $Texas.
Thanks!
I have something nearly identical to this:
https://www.amazon.com/SentrySafe-CHW20221-Fireproof-Waterproof-Cubic/dp/B00KOO594O/ref=sr_1_7?crid=1WAWZB5MJX7IA&dchild=1&keywords=sentrysafe+fireproof+safe&qid=1619097436&s=hi&sprefix=sentrysafe+%2Ctools%2C160&sr=1-7
It lives inside my Cannon safe, so fire-resistant box inside fire-resistant safe. What more could I do?
Edit: The lock thing isn't really worthy of consideration. You want fire protection. If someone wants to steal it, they'll just grab it and run and open it at their leisure. Best protection against theft is to put it where no one will find it.
A safety deposit box at the bank. That's where I keep all mine.
All one of those little boxes does it put all your important documents in one, easy-to-carry place if someone were to break into your home. Or if you misplace it.

I think your home being robbed or simply misplacing it is much more likely than people randomly breaking into safety deposit boxes.
I guess I need to go get that kilo of cocaine and Glock with the serial numbers scratched off from my safety deposit box.

Did you read the links? It wasn't really about theft, they are just bad choices for keeping things.
