The outboard conversation got me talking about fishing boats last night while my buddy Roger and I were putting shocks on the Rx8. He has an electric trolling motor that needs a battery. He is considering getting an Opti battery and was wondering are they the best value. He said they cost roughly twice as much as a standard deep cycle battery. Any insight will be appreciated. If you want to go fishing we will take you.
I don't know how much this helps, but my dad's sailboat has 2 deep cycle batteries. He usually just shops by price, but they may be an odd size (I know they are giant and heavy). He got the most recent set from Napa.
I've had Advance auto batteries in my last 4 boats and so far so good, but I always buy oversize. Don't forget your slickdeals coupons.
