In theatre/entertainment businss.. "Swag" is what the bands give the stage hands-- usually a cheap Tee Shirt with the band's logo-- as a way of thanks. Not sure when the term got taken over by the idiots
Yup. To me, swag is free branded goodies. I don't know what the kids think it means.
i feel like weirdo for having absolutely no stickers on my car.

Pretty sure the "swag" that is referred to in hip-hop is short for "swagger".
See this video (Swagger Like Us) (sampled from MIA who sampled The Clash) which helped popularize the term:

If you've got "swagger", you've got "pimp hand", AFAIK.

As am I, and my music posts here usually showcase the indie snob that I am.
Regarding the "E36 M3ty music" thing--there is PLENTY of good new music out there, you just need to dig for it.

My regular response to that is grossly inappropriate for this forum and I don't want to end up under a slab of concrete, so we'll simplify it and just say, I'm not racist, I just prefer to hate every race equally.
what...does...it matter??
The trend was started by Yohiro Nakija. He is a very popular tuner/street racer in Tokyo. He got a really cool sticker from a very respectable tuner and was out of room on the side of his car. Nakijasan decided to put it on his back window instead. Right when he was about to stick it on, he slipped and it went on crooked. Aaaiiiieee!
Asking for a replacement sticker would have meant a great loss of face, so he left the sticker askew and prepared for the shame he was sure to receive. To his great relief, his fellow racers, in a show of great respect, titled their stickers as well. It became a trend that has spread across the ocean to our shores as well.
And that kids, is what happens when I am waiting for something to download and I get bored.
I put a political sticker at an angle by my exhaust.

Now, I don't keep up with these things. The current rear window thing is a result of the stance scene. Most of them have agreed that illest/Canibeat/Fatlace (and usually, the "shocker") decals are what should adorn a rear window at an angle.
I let my new boss, who is my age and a stance-tard, in on the secret that I hate stanced cars. I started asking him when he is going to put illest and shocker stickers on the back of his car... He was not amused.
Also, it is a wheel and tire shop I work at that stances cars on the regular.

I wasn't saying otherwise, according to most people I actively seek out E36 M3ty music. And as an almost Elitist metal hipster I'm inclined to agree with them.
I just thought all this crap was Gangnam Style, yo!

berkeley you old man!
And E36 M3ty music has always been a thing.
I was gonna say something about how I shop at goodwill, but then I realized you were talking about those idiots who dress like toddlers given free reign over what they get to wear that day and took it off the list.
When I need clothes the first store I hit is Goodwill. On top of being a grumpy old fart I'm also a cheap bastid!

50 dollar pair of pants with the tag still on it for 6.50? Yes please.
not sure of original origins... but it certainly spread like wildfire from the mk4 forums of the VW Vortex. There was an "Official Sticker Thread" in the mk4 forums started around '08 that is now some 50+ pages long. It seemed to thrive with the "hard parker" scene, and jumped from the VAG cars over to all kinds of "stanced" rides, so the illest/canibeat/etc. crowd took to it.
Unlike the stickers for horsepower trends of the past, the angled rear window stickers are more about getting the right look. Stickers should be witty and/or geared to "in the know" internet memes.
In short.. yes you missed it. It's 5 years old now, and "played out" as they say. ;-p

I much prefer Stagger. At least then I have alcohol to blame for acting like a dildo.
I don't see why anyone cares that much how some one modifies or sticks stickers on their cars.

U MAD BRO?
Now that nearly everyone is driving a vehicle that is really a station wagon....even tho the car companies are trying to avoid the term, I'm wondering how soon the trend to adorning the outside of your station wagon....ooops, CROSSOVER, with fake planks of wood will re-appear?

When all the tards grow up from hardparking?
Teh focus and sho's lack stickers of all kinds......the bmw is kinda at a halfway to race livery, although I may just remove all that.
Also, I wanted to key my screen as well after seeing those vw's......jetta/golf people are a bit over the edge, a few cents off a dollar, and lost their berkeleying marbles......Ben's "swank force one" is acceptable due to mainly being meme's making fun of the other retards.....
