I accidentally brought in the whole creationism thing. Sorry.

I just figured if even the Catholic church seems to find creationism a little too conservatives for their tastes...

But... it's For The Children, Strizzo. Surely you're willing to spend a measly little 48 bil For The Children. I mean, most of it isn't even your money, so what do you care?

That whole bill is The Worst Congress, Evar's last ditch effort to thieve as much as they can from us before they are all out of work and on retirement and free health for the rest of their lives. Then the next congress can be honest and do things in our interest for a week (OK, maybe two days) before they too are lost to the big money from the bankers and other large corporations.

Not really. I don't have anything special. The argumetns have all been made before and the proofs are easy to find. Shoot, just think about some of the basic points of Creationism - it's not hard to find solid facts that disprove them. The only problem, and the thing that makes it useless to present the points, is that they're dismissed by supporters of Biblical Creation. No amount of information will satisfy them. Carbon 14 dating proves Creation wrong? They'll tell you at great length that Carbon 14 dating doesn't really work and provide "scientific" support for their claim. The speed of light proves that we are observing stars that existed before the Bible says Creation happened? Not a problem. God created a universe with light already on it's way to Earth from these distant stars. Once you assume an answer, and atribute magic to it, there's no amount of Science that will sway your opinion.

Well that doesn't look like a 100% proof. You just said it's easy to find the information on your own go have fun? I thought you could PROVE it? I'm not trying to be a dick or anything, but I seriously would have enjoyed reading someone who is 100% positive they can disprove something set up a nice logical train of thought from begining to end that could 100% disprove creationism (which for the record I feel the Biblical account of creation is a Metaphor, and I for one am impressed by how relatively accurate to the order of evolution/big bang the writers of the bible got)

Yes he did jump the shark and here’s irrefutable photographic proof:

Seriously though, I don’t think he has jumped the shark…he’s the same person attempting to accomplish the same objectives using the same approaches as he has since first running for office.

The only thing that has changed is that he has, justified or not, lost support.

It's brilliant really. You simply take poor people, and throw billions of dollars at them. Voila! No more poor people.

And who didn't know you could buy self-reliance?

Apparently a constituent asked for the earmark, but Clever neither proposed it nor promoted it.

Also, the image on the previous page was better done and posted by a more magnificent person.

What is the point of a post like this?

I read this whole thread. All of it. I feel dirty. People, who's posts I normally dig, are coming off like asshats. This is the worst thread I've seen on this board, not because of the original intent, but to what it devolved into. Thus the lowest common denominator. (Not an attack on you or anyone else in this thread. Its just my opinion of it)

Yep, the "War on Poverty" has been funded with far more than $48B for over 50 years with astounding results.

Victory is just around the corner. Yea!

The mission statement for the welfare state could use some tweaking towards accountability and providing a helping hand instead of a hand-out.

Have you ever noticed that when someone says "not trying to be a dick"...

As I said, and I guess you didn't read, I'm not going there. As I've already explained, it became very clear right away that no one was interested in a discussion on the subject, only in a game of internet gotcha. I won't go through it again. You can go back and read what I wrote last time. Page seven.

Having said that, if you look at my post, there are a couple of specific examples you can research pretty easily all on your own. Of course, if you use magic to explain them away, they don't prove anything.

Yes, I can prove it. No, you won't believe it. So let's just move on.

You win. You got me. Congratulations. Have a nice day.

I'm just amazed that you are 100% sure of something as broad and unknown as the origins of the universe. There are very few things I'm 100% sure of, and something that happened a long time ago (apparently somewhere between 6,000 and 5 billion years), before mankind existed, certainly isn't one of them.
