So Bosch is still everyone's favorite right? What was that discount website John was so fond of?
Mice got into the wiring in the kitchenaid that came with the house, so I'm shopping.

If you decide on Bosch (we have), be sure to get something in stock. Last Fall our high end Kitchenaid failed again, and after already spending more on repair parts (with me doing the work) than the original purchase price of 5 years earlier, I wasn't about to buy another $400 part. So we ordered a Bosch in November. The confirmation came back for a May delivery. In April, that moved to October.
Fortunately the son of a friend had recently purchased appliances removed from a remodeling project with the intent of putting them into a rental house. We borrowed that bottom end Bosch dishwasher. It cleans better than the Kitchenaid ever did, and even the low end model isn't very loud at all, so we're happy we ordered Bosch. We just wish we had it already.
We bought one a few months ago. At the time, something like 13/20 top recommendations on Consumer Reports were Bosch.

I bought two appliances from AJMadison. The Maytag Commercial Washing machine was about $80 less than other retailers and the induction cooktop was hundreds cheaper. The cooktop just arrived in a manufacturers box but for the washing machine, two guys arrived, brought it in the house and put the old one in the garage.
I have had a Bosch dishwasher for 8 years now. No trouble yet. Very, very quiet.
I'm also reminded of last weeks discussion of used, high end appliances discarded when people do remodels.
The second one references a missing wheel. I'm sure that is the roller wheel that lets the bottom tray pull out. I'm sure it available online. $6 sample. Others on Amazon
Aj Madison would have saved me about $20. Bigger discounts on the higher end ones though. But I just bought a Bosch at Lowes.
Free installation, after rebate, which is nice I guess.
Hope it lives up to the hype. Freaking house, it's like it knows I just got a bit cash positive so had to go and throw a wrench at that.
We loved our Bosch dishwasher. When we finally replaced all of the other kitchen appliances with SS we seriously considered just leaving the white dishwasher. I also looked into buying a SS door but it was almost as much as a new DW. In the end we got a deal where they threw in the DW when we bought the fridge and oven.
How about their other appliances? Namely microwave and electric range.
We want to replace dishwasher/microwave (both not very good) and our range. The range is fine, but I like everything to match. When I had my swanky downtown apartment in Tulsa in 2015, it was all top-of-the-line Bosch appliances. The range was TERRIBLE.

love the bosch - have 3 of them in different coasts - so quiet no one knows its on
here is microwave and oven combo - same in 2 houses just installed

Just get a Bosch dishwasher that has hidden controls and you'll never notice it not matching the other appliances. Matching brand on all your kitchen appliances dooms you to mediocrity at best on at least one of them. I have a Panasonic microwave, Bosch dishwasher, Wolfe range, whirlpool fridge. I'd rather have the best tool for the job than have them look all matchy matchy.

Very good point here. We got new furniture for #2 son's bedroom. Bed had a one-month lead time. That's been bumped into next month. He's sleeping on a new mattress, on the floor. If the bed gets here by Christmas, I'll be amazed.

Would you care to expand on that?
I have a Kitchenaid that cost $1000 and required a $400 part (pump assembly) about 18 months after it was installed. So, I'm not a fan of Kitchenaid.
Whatever you do DO NOT buy Samsung. They have terrible reliability and most appliance repair places won't work on them anymore.
I have a Bosch 500 series with no complaints. All the other dishwashers I have had were low end older models so it's obviously an improvement over those but I haven't had any issues in the 3+ years it has been installed.

I have what was a ~$600 Bosch and its has been plagued with drain clogging problems my entire ownership. I have ripped it out from under the counter and cleared the line several times :(
Now I am extra cautious to make sure parts that go in there are clear of any larger food particles - oatmeal is a death sentence.

Have you ever had another dishwasher in there? I've had a Bosch for 11 years or so in two houses (brought it with us in a move) and we're a household of 7 and haven't had a problem. Is it possible you have a drain issue and not a dishwasher issue? We definitely don't rinse our dishes and have oatmeal weekly or so.

Not since I purchased the house in 2013 (Bosch went in on day 1). I know the issue is between the inside of the dishwasher and the sink drain, and I've taken out the hoses in between and cleaned it. Not sure what else there is to do.
Right now to get it back out I actually have to cut some tile out of my floor, because the tile installers basically locked it in place :(

How has it been, Rev? And which model?
In reply to OHSCrifle :
I thought I bought an 800 series because of the model number, but apparently it's a 300 series.
I don't really like it. It works well enough, the silverware rack is helpful, and I like the adjustable middle shelf. With limited exception it cleans everything I put it in the first time. Some silverware or really tough 9x13s will go through it over and over and over again until I say screw it and hand wash them.
But the racks are horribly laid out and it only holds about half what the kitchenaid it replaced held and it doesn't have a heated dry function. Run it after dinner, open it before bed, stuff is still wet in the morning.
Haven't had any real problems with it, but times like tonight where I need to play tetris multiple times just to get 8 dinner plates, 4 dessert plates and 4 bowls in the bottom rack really annoy me. Throw in a cutting board or two and it really screws stuff up
In reply to RevRico :
This is helpful. Our old GE stopped pumping despite clean filters and hoses and I have decided it's time to buy a new one rather than additional replacement parts. Weekend project.

Dont open the door, turn it on and go to bed. It dries with the heat of the wash, if you open the door it will not dry.
I'm another Bosch dissenter. We had one of their entry level models (300?) and EVERYTHING broke on it. Two drain pumps, rack tines rusted out and disintegrated, the control panel actually cracked in the middle in normal use, soap dispenser stopped dispensing. Admittedly this was some years ago and I was able to keep it going by replacing parts so it didn't cost us that much. I was so disgusted by the end that I actually replaced it while it was still mostly operational- which is something I almost never do with appliances.
Functionally, I hate dishwashers with filters and with the Euro-style rack spacing that just doesn't fit American bowls well.
Speaking of filters- ProDarwin- is your filter in place and intact? I can't imagine how hose clogging amounts of crud could make it out of the dishwasher otherwise.
