AMERICAN FORK, Utah - Four teenagers were cited by police in American Fork after they rapped their order to a McDonald's drive-through. The boys say the drive-through worker was not amused and asked them to leave. So they left and continued on to attend a football game. That is where police caught up to them and gave them a citation for disorderly conduct. Thousands have made up their own drive-through rap and broadcast via YouTube. It's become somewhat of a phenomenon. Taco Bell has even taken the idea for a commercial.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry at how stupid the cops can be.

All those people who moan about the English police on their internet forums better watch out - you're next!

If this helps to eradicate rap music, I'm all for it.

A while back Taco bell had Bullwinkle doing ads for them. So, we hit the drive-thru with my buddy doing the ordering in his perfect Bullwinkle impression. Manager offered him a job on the spot.

no, it's just rap, there's no musical content.

I'm guessing that whether or not this qualifies as "disorderly conduct" depends largely on a bunch of missing details. The drive-thru worker said they were cursing. If some little wannabe gangstuhz came in my shop cursing in front of paying customers, I'd say that falls under "disorderly conduct," whether or not they thought it was cute or entertaining.

Disorderly Conduct is a charge that is frequently abused. It's so vague almost anyone can be charged with it at just about anytime. It's the catch all charge for the Police when they can't charge you with a real crime.

Around here it is used as a lead in to "Resisting arrest without violence." (arguing) The original charge is then dropped and the resisting arrest charge sticks.

Kinda like that whole, noise violation well before 10 pm, something about aggrivating the sensabilities of a "normal" person.

Billy Mays, um, Billy Maysed his order to McDonalds once on the Jimmy Kimmel show. That's when I really started to like Mr. Mays. It was hilarious and it showed you that this guy knew who he was and what his place in the world was.

It's stupid to arrest somebody for this. I think a friend of mine got in some trouble for walking through a drive-through once. He just didn't want to go inside.

I have tried riding my bike through a drive through (the lobby was locked up for the night) with no luck. I guess Checkers just wanted my business more, with their friendly walk-up window!

I saw (pictures) a R34 Skyline go through a drive up backwards.

I've gotten kicked off the property of a Del Taco for that once. It was late and the lobby was closed. Some friends of mine and I were staying in a neighboring hotel where a party was going on, completely hammered, and wanted tacos. We walk over there only to find the lobby was closed, so we got in line in the drive through. After waiting in line for a few minutes the manager comes storming out the back door screaming "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING!". We calmly explained that we were waiting in line to order tacos, and he proceeded to freak out some more and threaten to call the cops on us. That was the weirdest reaction to drunk guys waiting in line for tacos I've ever seen.

When I was in college we did that - walking up to the drive-thru and ordering tacos. Only once did anyone ever say "You have to come inside" and when we said "We don't want to - we are berkeleying hammered" they just said "Come around to the window".

Before I could drive, I often rode my bicycle through the drive-up window at the bank, etc when the lobby was closed. Got some wierd looks, but was always taken care of.

Yeah, I have no idea what that manager's problem was. We hadn't even gotten to order yet, and he came storming out, furious and red-faced, screaming at the top of his lungs. We seriously thought he might try to attack us, which we also thought was hilarious at the time.

You can thank the lawyers and insurance folks for that. Should a drunk get run over in a drive thru line the resturaunt is on the hook for however much some crackhead jury decides a hungry drunk is worth. That value is often quite inflated. As a result most places take it fairly seriously and will discipline/fire the person serving the walk-ups.

The original story doesn't seem as odd as it did when I first read it about 3am, and couldn't figure out how they raped a McDonalds Drive thru.
