After about 1/2 a mile the display in the instrument panel switches to a warning that your signal is on. What an age we live in.

I'd be leery of the Cadillac. The Buicks seem to be more reliable. The Regal looks like a total Qship sleeper. I think the 1.6 Ecoboost Fusion would be a fun ride..

I'm honestly surprised, and a bit dissapointed at the mostly negative feedback on the ATS.

I really thought a near 300hp stick shift Rear Wheel Drive turbo sedan on a reasonably lightweight (~3370lbs) by modern standards chassis would be the hot ticket. Are are the reviewers proclaiming this to be a spiritual successor of the E46 BMW off the mark? ...or is it just that reliability is the sole detractor?

Truedelta has the ATS as more reliable than the Regal. Just a data point, I have no firsthand knowledge of either.

This is the only reason I would ever buy a Cadillac. I like the fact that they took a car not destined for motorsports, went racing with it, and won.

Gen2 mazdaspeed3? Manual, fast, not as boy racer as the first. Ive seen 30 out of them, and i know two kids will fit. With car seats.

I see a hell of a lot more ATSs coming in for problems than Regals. We see Regals pushing 100K miles and they just need the usual maintenance. ATSs are in every 5000 miles for some stupid electronic widget having called it quits.

You should definitely test drive one. I rented one (2.0T RWD) for a week with a lot of mixed driving and I enjoyed it. I've also test driven 2 Regal GS, a 2014 and a 2013. Most recently, I tested the ATS 3.6 and the 2013 GS back to back. The Regal wins hands down for me, but part of the reason is I'm a bigger dude and the ATS was weird to get in and out of for me. I didn't remember that from my rental experience but I sure noticed it this time. Also didn't care for the throttle tip in of the 3.6, it felt really laggy.

Honestly reliability would be less of a concern for me with the GS, but I would have some concerns about both.

Yeah, no kidding. In some applications you just about have to floor it in reverse to even get it to move.

Wasn't there someone on here with a newer Regal in turbo/stick and the combo just didn't work well? Really bad lag that would have been negated in auto due to the TQ converter.

Honestly, I wouldn't let it hold you back. If I went by the advice of most people, including auto forum posters, I doubt I'd own any of the interesting and fun cars I have now. Even my cheap Porsches haven't been all doom and gloom like most would lead you to believe. I saw an ATS-V the other day and it damn sexy. Plus there is always the warranty.
