I am looking to hook up my computer monitor to a TV converter box, in the event that the internet gets boring. Do they make a "a-daptor" thingy to go from the monitor to coax? I figured I would ask before I head to the shack and get blank stares like I do at the parts store.

thanks

Yes, monoprice.com has them. Be warned, the video quality is pretty crap though.

Actually, you may only be able to get composite. Here's the one i bought:

You might be better off getting a TV tuner card for the PC. There are tons of things you can do with TV / PC combos.

Just google HTPC (home theatre PC) for various cases, cards, set ups..

This. Plus generally speaking, Monitors can support higher resolution than a TV. I plugged in my laptop to my 42" plasma via HDMI, and it looked like booty, but it was super crispy and nice on said laptop.

I use my big LCD tv as a monitor for my main computer at home. However, it is only good because it is connected to a 1080p tv via HDMI. A VGA connection should work just fine as well.

However, it's worthless to connect to a TV via the following:
coax
composite (one RCA cable)
S-Video

Component (3 video RCA, 2 Audio) is only good for 720p or 1080i. (1200x720, 60hz or an interlaced signal, which doesn't work well with staring at a screen.)

I second(or third) the tuner card
