I left mine–a freebee, I admit–at a restaurant last night.
Just go back and grab it? Well, it’s more than an hour and a half away, so a bit of a drive for something worth $7.99.
I see a million options on Amazon, so anyone have a favorite out there?
My hopes and desires:
Doesn’t leak (like my old one).
Holds more than 17 ounces.
Fits in a standard cup holder.
Keeps my drink cold.
Doesn’t leak.
Thanks.
I have become a huge fan of Stanley lately. Toughest and best insulated mugs I've found.
I really like my Rtic bottle. The one I bought fits in my trucks cup holder but no other vehicle I have ever been in but they have some other styles that look a little more normal size.
I buy ozark trail ones from Walmart. Cheap and work well enough. Probably same factory as rtic.
My Step mom got me one of these for Christmas and it is hands down the best water bottle I have ever had:
Zojirushi SM-SA60BA Stainless Steel Vacuum Insulated Mug
I have left it in my car, in the Sun all day while I was at work, and the water was still cool in it.
I prefer my "cold" liquids at room temperature, so my preferred bottle is Deer Park and Body Armor #1 PETE. Best part is that you don't need to wash them, just recycle. I really don't care to have to keep up with a Yeti tumbler or similar that costs real money.
I've had all the YETI and RTIC versions and really like just about anything they have to offer but they tend to leak if not upright.
Enter OWALA. Love these things. We pretty much have one per human in our house. Drip/leak free and these kept ice with a full day at the beach in Florida summer heat. Brought home and sat overnight. Still had ice.

I have 3 of the Atlin 30oz Tumblers. Not really a drink bottle, per se, in that it doesn't have a screw top, but it works well in the car, holds a lot of liquid, fits in most cupholders, and most importantly for me, is dishwasher-safe. I'm too lazy to hand wash these things.
We use Yeti with screw tops (looked it up, they're called "chug caps"). It'll even keep carbonated pressure up to a point - it helps to have a bit of air space. They'll keep ice for a day, don't leak and take a bunch of abuse. I've got an 18 oz by my side pretty much constantly.
I have an orange Sick the Mag drink bottle I picked up during sick week in 22. It's made by camel coolers/drinkware.
Most everything else I have is from Yukon outfitters branded with bucee's logos.

We've got a few of these around in sizes ranging from 18 to 36 ounce. The nice thing about the chug caps is the same cap fits the 18, 26, or 36 oz bottle.
The larger ones don't fit cup holders, but the 18 oz will, and they will keep things cold for a long time.
I've got a couple of their travel mugs, one is used for coffee and keeps things hot for hours, and another one I use for adult beverages that does a great job keeping drinks cold in the summer heat.
If you want to throw it in a bag and not worry about it leaking, I like my Swell water bottle. It keeps stuff nice and cold and has the more standard water bottle shape with a screw cap.

This is what I use 90% of the time. The other 10% I have a one gallon insulated jug from Walmart that works very well.
Thanks for the tips–and feel free to keep them coming. I was thinking I’d drive back and grab it–plus, to be honest, that totra was divine.
Then I thought, “Wait, this is the same bottle that dribbled all over the place when I set my camera bag on its side.” No gear got wet, but it still made a mess. I can do better, right?
Another vote for the stainless Yeti. Being dishwasher safe and not drinking out of plastic is what sold us.
My search skills seem to be lacking at the moment, but logdog did a comparison test a while back and the harbor freight actually beat the yeti, without the added yeti tax.

Is this it? 20 Oz Double-Wall Insulated Stainless Steel Tumbler.
And how well will that kind of lid stay attached when the bottle in hanging off my camera bag? (It has two pockets on the side.)
I've had a Contigo one just like this for years now:
This is what I commute with, and it fits in the usual backpack water bottle holders and in most car cupholders. Also has a loop if you want to hook it to a backpack/belt with a carabiner. It's 24oz and keeps things cool for about 24hrs with ice, if not longer. We have one of those fancy Bevi machines at work, and it even keeps carbonated water carbonated for quite a while. It is sealed unless you hold the button down, and it has a cover for where you put your mouth. They are between $10-20 usually these days.

I saw that comparison, bought the Harbor Freight version, and have been very pleased with it.

We've gotten lots of Yeti and Stanley swag at beer trade events. The Stanley has always been far more impressive, and is a bit cheaper.
This bottle would likely be my pick for your needs.

I am a Takeya 40oz man, myself.
Fits in nothing, but you fill it with ice then water and leave it in a hot car all day while you're at Disney and its still cold when you get back.
Can usually get them for about $20 if you search. Costco is good about having them, or an equivalent.

If you go big, you can always do something like this to address the cup holder (maybe):
fits this:
I've had a Yeti for water at home for about 10 years. It has held up well. Kiddo has a new Stanley.... not sure it's all that but it is nice. If you are near Buccees they have a selection at s variety of price points.
For bike rides I use insulated camelbaks bike bottles and they last years.

This as well. Till my ex wife dropped each one I got, I had a 40 oz tumbler. Loved it
