Everyone here loves Doctor Who, right? My pal Lewis does a podcast about the show, so just giving him a little shoutout: http://thehappinesspatrol.blogspot.com
And for those who'd rather connect via Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TheHappinessPatrol/
Enjoy.
PS: Lewis just reminded me that he has a Miata.
My wife absolutely loves the show. I've tried watching it a few times and it's just not for me.

I was going to dismiss your post until you said this.

Go back and watch the episode "Don't Blink". That's the best one to get a real taste for the series.
I still have yet to see any of the episodes with Peter Capaldi. Are they on Hulu or Netflix yet?

I agree, don't blink is one of my favorites.
The newer stuff has been pretty meh. It's turned into the Jenna Coleman show.

I'll have to check it out. I want to like it it's just that the episodes I've seen so far haven't hooked me.
In reply to PubBurgers:
I don't have a wife but I'm totally with you.
I've tried to get into it three different times, with three different recommended episodes...
Nope.

He's also a fine guitarist and bandleader: http://youtu.be/TutMh4sVLhU
I'm a fan of David Tennants version of the Doctor. The reruns are on all the time on BBCA and I really need to start back with the refresh with Christopher Eccelston, I rarely see those episodes. I like the Matt Smith episodes too, but I just like David Tennant more.
I have yet to watch a Peter Capaldi episode yet.
I'm not a fan but my 12 year daughter is a huge fan.
I am a huge whovian, having a hard time with capaldi I though. He wasn't great in the fires of Pompeii, he isn't a great doctor imho, but we'll see.
Tennant was my favorite too. Every other Doctor, after the regeneration, started out with me thinking, "This guy sucks." but not Tennant. I love shows like this that our whole family can enjoy.
I wasn't a fan of Matt Smith until we watched Day of the Doctor, love that movie/episode/whatever. The latest version with Capaldi seems to have lost it's "Doctorishness". It just doesn't feel the same.

Put me in the "not for me" camp. I gave it a fair try, I watched every single episode that netflix has starting with eccelstone. I think its a good show, but im not going crazy over it. I have no drive to watch the originals or even seek out the new ones.
Though I agree, Tennant was my favorite doctor.
I've been a fan since the Tom Baker days - Tennant is still my favorite, I do like Matt Smith, haven't really developed a liking for Capaldi, though.
I'm enjoying some aspects of Capaldi's Doctor, but he needs a better foil than the easy on the eyes Jenna.
I'll happily check out the podcast.
Capaldi is good in his own way. He reflects the doctors age(2k or so now) and he has reconciled himself with his actions during the last time war. In that regard, Smith was in denial and used the childishness as a cover.
I don't want to go into spoilers over this past season but Missy and Danny Pink... I just hope River shows back up. As she has said, her Doctor was older, and despite her involvement with Smith I doubt he was HER Doctor.
But Bessie will be back next season.
I've been watching since Pertwee. Capaldi is good at showing his insecurities and I like him better now than the first episode. My top three Doctors are Tennant, Smith and Baker.

I personally think he might be a fine doctor. But the shows with him have so far been meh. Largely due to it being the Jenna Coleman show instead of his show, as someone said above. That said, there definitely seems to be a shift going that looks like it will put more focus on him soon. Then we'll really see if he's a good doctor or not. Right now I put him in the category of doing a decent enough job with sub-par opportunities (kinda like some of the incarnations of 007).
I'm also a big fan of Tenant's Doctor. He did the best job of seeming very adventurous and whimsical and yet incredibly old at the same time. He was appropriately giddy and silly, but every once in a while, you'd see the weight of everything he's seen and done crack through.
Plus, he and Catherine Tate had the best chemistry. Donna was far an away my favorite companion. The only one who really seemed like she had the moxy to put the doctor in his place when necessary.

This thread makes me LOL.
I am a big fan also. Been watching since the 80's. My favourite old school doctor is Tom Baker, favourite new is Matt Smith, favourite companion is Sarah Jane Smith. And I absolutely hate Donna.
If I were to ever meet Mofatt I would either shake his hand or try and kill him.
Thanks
