AP is reporting that Don Meredeth died of a brain hemmorage. I'm not a big football fan, but his voice has always been synonymous with all football for me. A living legend in sports broadcasting is gone.

Dandy Don was also thought to be the inspiration for Mac Davis's character in North Dallas 40. Probably the best football movie of all time.

Gotta love guys that kick ass, are massively successful, but still don't take themselves too seriously. He was the perfect foil to Cosell in the booth.
