But couldn't he afford a better hair piece?

A better hairpiece wouldn't get him any publicity.

I wonder if this was done on purpose. I think he to some extent knows he shouldn't be President. He is bringing up topics that need to be discused and the fact he's leading should be making the Republicans look harder for someone to elect. He couldn't bow out while he was ahead so he has to do something to make him stumble in the poles.

I think you meant "stumble in the polls", but I definitely like the way you wrote it better. Gives a great visual imagery.

Is it bad that I'm thinking those poles should be punji sticks?

It really doesn't matter if I picture him running full speed into a telephone pole, or head butting a bunch of Polish people...

Works either way.

Reminds me of Amazon's "Alpha House", where Penn Jillette runs against incumbent Nevada Senator (and one of the main characters) Louis Laffer. Jillette runs a campaign solely focused on making his opponent look like a fool to illustrate the fact that voters are entirely too focused on the "good act" in politics, and if they vote for Jillette they are just as stupid as if they vote for Laffer, and the fact that no-one else was running was pitiful.

After demolishing Laffer in the pre-election polls, Jillette promptly bows out of the race, leaving Laffer as the only candidate.

It would be hilarious if Trump ended up a POTUS. Be like when the NDP party got in power in Ontario back in the 90's (NDP being the third party that normally sits in the back row and heckles the real parties) and all the members were walking around going "NOW what do we do?"

Where is Jesse Ventura when you need him?

I keep trying to figure out what The Donald's real game here is. There must be some obscure law pertaining to presidential candidates, leftover from the age of Robber Barons, that he will soon envoke to greatly enrich, empower, or protect himself and his interests in ways that wouldn't otherwise be possible.

I don't think there is anything he can do at this point that would keep him out of the first Republican Presidential debate, short of Hara-Kira.

I think that is his entire game.

How will anyone else possibly prepare for this debate? It's a circus sideshow crashing full speed into a pornographic orgy of midgets on the roof of runaway freight train, no matter what anyone tries to do.

It doesn't matter how hard they try to be serious at his point, The Don will be center stage. It's a media wonderland wet dream.

He will then hold the cards. What he does with them could be entertaining, mundane, inspiring, or downright frightening. We shall see.

If I were someone who believed in conspiracies, I'd say he's trying to screw up the Republican side so badly that Hilary will be guaranteed to win.

His problem is not that he is not politically correct. His problem is that when he talks about these politically "sensitive" topics, he states them in such a ridiculous way. You can hope his is just wildly overstating them (which makes them easy to discount), but I have to say I am not entirely sure. E.g. he has serious communication issues. Not really what you want in a president, representing the country and all.

He seems to completely lack any political savvy at all. I know "political" is a bit of a bad word these days, but believe it or not, when you are a politician, there are many times when you NEED to be political (and not just to get re-elected). You get the impression he is normally surrounded by a bunch of people that either say "yes" a lot, or can be bullied.

How would this affect him as president? Well, good luck getting ANYONE to cooperate or work with him (Reps, Dems, other countries etc.) Despite what some might say, the presidency is not a dictatorship, the president very much needs to work with many, sometimes very different people. In fact, you might say, that's his primary job.

That said, I do love the mayhem he creates, and I actually appreciate that he has been pretty bold on some things. But as noted, the way he does it is way wrong, and the fact that he never even gives even the slightest consideration that some of his statements that he seems to pull out of his butt are anything put the gospel truth is not only ridiculous, but potentially dangerous in a political arena.

Even his statement on McCain, I have some agreement with. If what he meant was "not everyone who served or fought in the military is a hero, saying that only serves to diminish the actions of real heroes", I would agree with him. But that is NOT what he said, but I do suspect that is what he meant (said in the worst way possible of course).

Since the Obamanator has shown you can govern by executive orders, just think of what the Trumpster could do with them.

I know some folks that have worked with him on some of his projects. From what I hear, this is ABSOLUTELY the case.

He prefers to do whatever he wants. He purchased and renovated a golf course in Virginia a few years back, and without any sort of environmental or jurisdictional approval started tearing out all the trees along the shore of the Potomac River so people on the river (or across the river in MD) could see his golf course. The county was NOT happy about that.

http://www.nbcwashington.com/news/local/Trump-Golf-Course-Controversy-Grows-126043868.html

I think he's a dick. I dont think his "I do and say what I want, when I want to" attitude would be a good thing in the white house.

100% serious answer:

Nope.

The one political tenent to that everyone on this board can agree on is that the office of President has minimal power.

Apparently we stop believing that when we talk about Trump.

Even the worst havoc he could reap could turn out to be positive. He could single-handedly destroy the 2 party system, unite the fractured Conservatives, wake up the Pollianna Liberals, force campaign finance reform, destroy special interest financial controls, and unify an ineffectual and unproductive political machine, and join together fractured classes and races seeking social justice and equality.

All with a little mayhem.

He’s probably going to be one of the ten GOP candidates that make it to the debates.

If he isn’t really sharp and currently preparing really hard, he’ll make an epic fool of himself (I know, I know, but an even bigger epic fool) and that will be the end of him.

If however, he’s typical Trump (shocking insensitive and politically incorrect) but can answer the questions (who’s the Grand Poo-Pa of Zimbabwe, what was the effect of the XYZ Peace Accord, etc., etc.,), it’s not beyond the realm of possibility that he could win.

I would take a Trump victory to indicate that people are so sick of the two-party, meet the new boss - same as the old boss system that they’ll take absolutely anybody that’s different.

The thing with McCain is he had a bronze star even before being captured so it's not like he was slacking off in the arizona reserves or something like that.

If what you say is true then the president doesn't matter at all and nobody here should hate on Obama, Bush, Clinton, Reagan, or anyone like that.

Is it possible that might not have been his phone? Do you think maybe it might have been staged in some way using an old, defunct phone?

Or do you actually think it was his real phone?
