That is the kind of quality sign construction I like to see. I want a sign that is built so tough, it can yank a dumptruck back and stand it on end.

How do you get there, 70 mph with your dumper in the air?

Nah, diesels have so many torques that you can do that at 5 mph while laying asphalt.

Not to get nit picky and all, but pickup trucks have beds, dump trucks have boxes. You don't know the scars laughing construction workers can leave.

I actualy witnessed a similar event with a roll-off truck instead of a dump truck. It hit an overhead pedestrian cross walk and knocked it down. Its curious that road signs are tougher than pedestrian bridges

I showed that to my wife, she works in highway construction.

"It happens more often than you think. You should see what happens when a dump truck hits a power line..."

Her dad, also in construction, tells a story of driving a brand new belly dump truck on the interstate to a job - and when he turned on the lights, it dumped the load. Wiring problem. Yowza.

Something similar happened here a couple years ago, with the box catching an overhead girder on a bridge at ~35mph, flung the cab straight up into the underside of the bridge and killed the driver instantly
