Apparently they never saw the movie Marathon Man? At least I hope that's the name of the Dustin Hoffman movie where the "baddie" is made to swallow diamonds.

What is the name of the OLD movie in which the bad guy knows an underling has swallowed one of his diamonds and tells the cringing thief: "Like all things great and small, this, too, will pass. And when it does, give it back."

I remember the bad guy being Eli Wallach.

Did they need to get a search warrant before they went in there?

I thought they saw him consume it, then its just persuit.

In snatch the dog swallows a diamond, hence the name snatch. A little helpful information for when you need to know that.
