Sometimes I do...
I put this:
Up for sale around noon for $1800. Since then, I've had no less than 7 emails about it, not one asking if I'll go lower.
On one hand, that's a fair price, on the other, I think "damn, should have listed it for more." It's a similar feeling to the one I get when a seller takes my first offer. Oh well, whatcha going to do?

Right product, right time of year, in the right economic climate (high gas prices.)

Pffft, it's MPG is worse than a Fiesta! Also 2.6gal tank.
I remember the guy I bought my '75 Honda Gold Wing from saying the same thing as I loaded it on the trailer and his phone rang off the hook.
It pays to get there early with cash in hand.

Don't torture yourself.
At this point, the only sane approach is to believe that your finely tuned sense of the bike market nailed it, and that at $1825 you'd be waiting days between calls from a few people who didn't want to pay more than $1000...
Hopefully the first person to actually show has cash in hand and just pays and leaves.
Two things happen when I post something on Craigslist:
- No one e-mails and I end up trashing the item or giving it away
- I get 11936526 e-mails in 3 minutes that all say "Is it still available?"

Yeah, I let my '95 ACR with a spare SOHC engine go for too cheap a few years ago.
I've never sold anything.
You say you got 7 e-mails already. Did you do like the "typical" seller on CL and ignore all of them?
I've never sold anything on CL (did try to unload a psychotic cat, once, tho) but have TRIED to buy cars and trucks several times...normally, no one responds to e-mails. I guess they prefer to be (bothered?) by phone calls. Even the dimbulbs who DON'T include a phone number.

Isn't that the truth? No, I try to respond to every email I get that even looks halfway intelligent. Perhaps that's your problem? ZING!

I always say to start at a number that you'd be totally surprised to get for your item, but not one that is out in left field. You might get a bit less than asking, but you'll never get more, so leave some room.
My ex Gf was selling a maxima once, and wanted to get 2k for it, and was going to list it for that. I told her to ask 2500, someone might show up and pay it. Sure enough, some guy did just that, even though it needed struts and tires.
So do you still have the bike? Would you take $1,200 for it?
Feel better?

I am dimensionally interested in the item you have for sale. I am sending you $2800 to commence the sale and shipping. My agent will contacticate you versely to arrange deliveration.
When I sold my RX7, I priced it above what I expected, and ended up with more than I expected. I also had about 15 people call me, but the first to actually show up bought the car.
It seems like I get calls about anything with a motor that I post for less than about $2000. It seems to be the lucky number.

In reply to Osterkraut:
I tend to think you priced it perfectly and therefore got the interest, instead of starting $1K too high and hoping to find a sucker. But I agree there's a bit of regret thinking you could have gotten more.
On the other hand, it's great to be a buyer in that situation - I found and bought a 1993 jeep wrangler with hard top and hard doors/roll down windows for $600 that had minimal rust and needed a water pump, scrambling as fast as I could to line up a trailer and get there. The guy had no less than 10 calls on his cell from folks on their way while I was there looking at and preparing to load the jeep. I was just hoping he wouldn't say - wait a minute- a guy just offered me more. That was a great feeling driving away with jeep in tow.
I sold my land rover in under 24 hours on craigslist. Should have asked for more $$
Surprisingly I have someone coming for my plow truck tomorrow. I'm having a tough time believing it, given that it's the wrong time of year, but it is a good deal.
I think I price to low.
Warm-fuzzy ending: a guy came by and looked at it, ended up shooting the E36 M3 for about an hour. He said "well I love the bike, will you take $1750 for it so I can feel like I haggled you down some?" Done.
