Johnny Fever and WKRP were a big influence on me going to school for broadcasting and working in radio.

...and suddenly the world is that much less cool. Now my signature is in memoriam.

WKRP was my favorite TV comedy.  The whole cast was great.

His part in a classic:

I liked him in head of the class better...

Looking at him, I just realized that he could be the dad of Doug in the Liberty Mutual commercials.

Going into the Navy in '85, and being from Cincinnati, the first thing people asked when they found out where I was from was "Is WKRP a real station?"

It was nice seeing epsiodes when I was stationed away and being able to say "hey that's Mt Adams!  and now they're downtown.  That's (xyz neighborhood)."  I loved that show.  I have a friend that's a news announcer on a local radio station and I asked him if he beats his hands on his chest to pretend he's in a helicopter.
