Simple question who makes a good drill press? I need to pick one out for work. I would prefer American made but quality is the most important thing.

Wow. If American-made electric grinders are hard to find, I suspect drill presses will be even more so. At least those aimed at the home shop market. My big-box bought Ryobi is very Chinese, and pretty crappy. Fortunately, I'm not using it for a lot of precision work, and it's still a big improvement over trying to use a hand drill.
I've been looking for one also. Not sure there is anything made in the USA, but maybe. I'm looking for home use, but I decided to look at used commerical grade units instead of cheap new units. Here in Cleveland we have a company that sells used equipment of all kinds. They have an enormous warehouse. They aren't the cheapest, but it's one of those places where if you can't find it it doesn't exist. Might you have something like that near you?

Thats the one I couldn't remember. They make really good stuff.

Pretty sure they import the same stuff as Enco, Jet, etc.
Might be wrong though.
Last time I checked, some Delta stuff was decent and some was the typical crap. Guess all I'm saying is that with Delta, look close at what you are buying, don't just assume it's good.
I've used several PowerMatics like this - http://www.ebay.com/itm/Powermatic-1150A-Variable-Speed-Drill-Press-208v-1ph-/260813276520?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3cb9aec568 Good drills. We had a 4 head one that was awesome - Set each head up for a different operation on a part, and you could knock out some real production.
Not sure if Powermatic still makes metal equipment, nor if they are still USA.
