Organizing some old photos I came across this video. I used an App to record speed to show how little drama there is to running on the autobahn. I'll be back next month and hopefully I can borrow the Panamera and see 150+!
I would cruise from Hamburg to Kiel all of the time at 220 KPH like it was nothing. The roads are made for it and the cars are up to the task so it really wasn't an issue. It's easy when the environment is built for it.

It's easy when slower drivers know that they need to stay in the right lane.
In reply to pinchvalve:
Cool! Please tell me you were listening to Kraftwerk for at least part of the drive?
I found that you have to be aware of speed cameras along your route. They're not hidden, but when the posted speed drops considerably, and the rest of the traffic complies, that's a good indication that there are cameras ahead.

This X1000. 'Merica drivers know no such rules. After growing up in Atlanta I was astonished by the German drivers' situational awareness when we were there. We had a Passat TDI, so I wasn't in the left lane... much.

They don't. OK, it's not as bad compared to what I see here from time to time, but in "normal" cars I've had people pull out on me all the time even if I was going considerably faster. That's expected, though. The ones I really "liked" were the ones who would then proceed to do exactly 129km/h to teach me a lesson or something - the recommended speed even on the unlimited parts is 130km/h and of course there are some people who take that as gospel.
Mind you, that never happened when I was driving my 911 C3.2...
I recall being in a rental Opel Vectra, maxed out at about 220k or so. I've just finished a pass and am about to move right when I get flashed, so I move right, right now.
I'm passed by a soccer mom w/ a gaggle of kids in an S4 avant going at least 40k faster than me.
Whole groups of geriatrics in big, old AMG Benzes were marching by like I was stationary. It's awesome.
