DTV boxes

Ok....just got my gov coupons for the tv converter boxes... https://www.dtv2009.gov/

looks like they are all $59.99.

any experiences with the converters?

recommendations?

Keep in mind that unless you are getting your signal from the airwaves you don't need that box

uhmm....garage tv isn't on satellite.

another thing I noticed. my parents who live way out in BFE use an exterior HDTV antenna and pull in something like 40 - 50 channels.

I'm thinking about dropping the dish, since we only have it for local channels and dvr now anyway. build a mythtv box for the dvr aspect.

I'm skipping the box myself, all i use for the tv in my room is Satalite, DVD and games...that reminds me, I need to go out and pick up a used N64 and golden eye

I'm grabbing 2 because I want to use my TV during storms. I plan on hacking one up and powering it through the battery pack that I already use for my storm TV. The other will be used in my shop, hopefully.

They are all pretty bad. The Zenith model gets the best reviews.
