i think with my mods my class would move me higher up than i could compete.
Bah. I ran a VW Corrado in ST against a pack of EC chassis (if I recall the code correctly..one of the things that drives me nuts about so many Japanese manufacturers is that they give a different code to a car with a different engine, even tho it uses the same platform ) Honda Civics. Six to ten seconds behind them on a 1min course, and using the same tires I drove to the event on only accounts for about half of that. They're really that much better than I am.
But hey! Just being out there doing it was a rush. And it sure beats the hell out of "woulda, coulda, shoulda".

Smokey Yunick would say "It's only cheating if you get caught." Or was that Junior Johnson?................

Katy, on this I've got to admit my ignorance. I've been an SCCA member (off & on-and I've spent most of it with the road racing program, rather than AutoX) 25yrs, and I still have problems wondering around that rulebook. The thing's like the tax code (sez this "lib'rul"), the paper copy must weigh 2lb by now. But remember this..if you're a noob, most folks in SCCA just want folks to come run. My car's actually "illegal" for ST, because it doesn't have a catalytic converter on it. That by itself would kick me up to "modified" (search for loosecannon's thread about his EM V12 MGB GT to see what I'd be running against ) They let me run for fun in ST anyhoo, and even my fellow competitors don't care that my car's not legal. And they won't as long as I'm not actually trying to beat them with an illegal car.
Eh, I'm just talking to hear m'self talk again. Sorry about that. Long story short-find your local group, whether they're SCCA or not. Talk to them, just ask if you can come run for BMW E36 M3's and grins. Somebody in the group will be able to clue you in to the rules if you want to get further than just playin' around.

Okay, now I'm onboard with Luke and Leslie.
Off Topic forum post, "Curtis73 still has great hair!"
I ran my free aspire once...It was nearly stripped out, and had some windows replaced by....less heavy materials....
I classed myself in EMod mainly because I just wanted to go have fun. I won my class lol.

Brad, was that the time you brought the Aspire out here in Atlanta? I think I may remember that..

of course boats count!!! What are you thinking? Anyway??
Some might even go for a 16 cylinder (or more if twin/triple/quad/ engines), and THAT would increase your standing as a gearhead to almost mythical status...

Lawn mowers don't count? Dang! I'm down to 16.
Excuse me, but I must go look for something with an LS1...
Edit: Something that isn't a lawnmower.
why would you avoid a lawnmower that doesn't have an LS1! I'm confused...I thought LS1's fixed anything...

Crap, I forgot the boat. That brings me up to 72 Cylinders and 49.6L.
Anyone want to buy a boat. It's pretty fast if you can afford to feed it.
If I'm counting correctly I have 44 cylinders right now. And I am including my mower and my boat.

Awwww.... sonuva.... Curtis is pretty. I might have to let the hair and the beard out after all.... IDK if I even have a pic of me.....
Yeah.... keep in mind, both of these pics are at least a year old, and i've not had a hair cut since then, or shaved since like.... august. I wish I had a more recent pic.
EDIT- as long as we're at it- First car was a 1993 corolla. Current running cylinder count is 16, 24 total cylinders, plus one supercharger, and one turbobooster.
Also in the one pic with the collector on the exhaust installation- that was taken in the parking lot of Porkys (RIP) in St. Paul. Single worst collector design in history. Took a BFH and a torch to get that crap to fit. Also the only time i've voluntarily worked on a Honda.
Dood you have her totally engrossed wit the header pipe thing, are you looking down her shirt? Are her arms more defined than yours? Better start working on that six pack.
Pretty sure that's a dude.

Thanks, my wife made it for me. My company is a bit picky about wearing non-issued clothes with our uniforms so she thought that if she made it look like a bus they couldn't complain. It gets a lot of comments. On my old phone I had a picture of Moby on his way into a club stopping to look at it. .
