Second will be the regulation of WHERE they are allowed to be used. Eventually, they will only be allowed to be used by robots and bounty hunters sent back from the future to capture said robots. We'll be able to tell their alignment via the color of the fake ash. I certainly don't buy the "It's not dangerous smoke, it's just harmless vapor" line. Sure, if the gas can in my garage is leaking, it's just dispersing harmless vapor as well. Until someone lights a cigarette and blows my garage all to hell. Hey, I guess real cigs ARE more dangerous! There is some benefit to be had from the concept of "harm-reduction." If you're 100lbs overweight, and you lose 60lbs, you haven't "solved" the problem, but you have greatly reduced the potential harm you were doing. If users of e-digs applied that model to real cigs, maybe there could be some benefit—or at least reduction of harm. But, yeah, marketing them to kids is scummy, as are most tobacco companies (no surprise there). Personally, I've averse to smoking pretty much anything, except ham or brisket. I've got lung issues from way back in the day. I just can't imagine it agreeing with me. Now, the weed-infused beef jerky they're making in Colorado...
A little birdy told me that some people use THC juice in these fancy e-cigarettes. Since you aren't burning it there is no smell and the THC concentration can be crazy high... Just something a little birdy told me.
Also, e-cigs do not have to contain nicotine. Many of the flavors have 0% nicotine and can be made from vegetable glycerin. While I appreciate the 'get off my lawn' sentiment, I think that anyone using an e-cig instead of smoking is helping all of us with reduced medical costs. Remember that even though it hasn't gotten the same scrutiny as tobacco smoking, it has tacit approval from doctors due to the reduction in tar alone.
