According to the FCC
The FCC Website said: The date and time of the broadcast. Under federal law, if the FCC assesses a monetary forfeiture against a broadcast station for violation of a rule, it must specify the date the violation occurred. Accordingly, it is important that complainants provide the date the material in question was broadcast. Indecent or profane speech that is broadcast between the hours of 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. is not actionable. Consequently, the FCC must know the time of day that the material was broadcast.
In reply to Josh:
Nah, the best is when they delete "nigger" when a white person says it, but leave it in when a black person says it. Check "48 Hours" the next time they show it on broadcast tv.

That was the first thing that came to mind. The edits of that movie on AMC drive me berkeleying insane.

I always knew that movie had fruity undertones.
Jimmy Kimmel has a great skit he does every now and again where they bleep words to make it sound suggestive. Unnecessary Censorship: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ltGmjMBrLjs
