I am going to check out a 1986 cv 2 door on Sunday. What to look for? I wont be too picky cuz the asking price is less than 1G.
Pretty basic right? 302 carbs 7.5 axle and auto trans? Built like a tank and rides like a mobile sofa.

Need to replace intake to go with Edlebrock... Which means it's time for a new cam... an E303 roller cam and roller conversion will work... then you need heads... 1996 Ford Explorer GT40Ps will work well enough... a set of TFS springs will help a bit... Then some long tube headers and dual 2.5" exhausts with an Xpipe and Flowbasterds...
Maybe a 928 is a better choice.
C'mon, it's a 1K car. A little of this, a little of that, trip to the boneyard, sweetness ensues. Don't have to make it harder than necessary!
'86 was still carbed? in that case our 2 '85 panthers would have been carbed. I thought they where TBI... then again we got rid of the last one a year before I had my permit
...then I had to learn to drive in a berkeleying acclaim
Wow, I've only seen a handful of those anywhere. Good find, especially if the body isn't completely toast.
It is Atlanta, nothing down here is completely toast.
I am going to call the guy again tonight to set up a time.

I pass by one on the way to work everyday... it's some guy's daily driver and it's in NJ, so it's a bit rough... neat car to see, tho... I remember thinking, "that's a rare bird... " when I first saw it 5 years ago.
yeah, I think if I end up with it, I am going to daily it and maybe do some light towing with it. It should be a fun car as I already have alot of parts that will fit it.
Those are still Mustang 5 lug pattern that long ago right?

That might have actually been cooler than the OP car.
There were 2 of these in my pizza delivery area....both were the "root beer" brown color. I thought I had an inside line on the cheaper(less well-maintained?) one, and would have gotten it for less than $800. The seller claimed that she wasn't sure she wanted to sell just yet...even though the license plate was nearly a year out of being legal. Then it was just gone. The other one was traded for a used Cavalier coupe.
Yeah, these have that funky feedback carb, but you just "swap out" the carb and intake, as has been pointed out, no huge biggie.
I thought this was going to be about a Toyota Crown.
The 'Vic can be a cool car. Swap in a manual like the other guy on here did. That car rocks.
