KICK ASS!
Earlier today I commented on my great deal of 4 tires for $205 shipped via TireBuyer.com because of their $50 coupon. Upon seeing this posting from Pat, I took a look-see over to Ebay. Turns out that TireBuyer sells via Ebay as well. What was $205, shipped with tax for 4 tires is now $179, shipped with tax.
Same thing, from the same people but a net $26 cheaper with the $40 Ebay threw in.
Thanks Santa Pat! Or, maybe it's Easter Bunny Pat!
Wife need new tires for her fusion. Thanks!
Just ordered Old Man Emu springs for all four corners of my 4Runner.
For those procrastinating, the deal ends in about 15 minutes

Yeah,I just got the message deal has expired.... Boo too slow.
Picked up a Uniden R3 radar detector for $80 off.
How exactly is this happening?
Does it only apply to commercial vendors selling new items?
Is eBay rebating the difference back to the sellers?

I had the same questions, but I bought a rather old and rare camera lens from an individual and the discount was applied. I can only guess the eBay is eating the difference, or maybe that there's some obscure language in the user agreement that applies. The latter would, of course, result in some very annoyed sellers, but I'm not sure whether that's a factor eBay cares much about.
I believe ebay is just eating the difference. Nobody bought anything from me yesterday so I couldn’t tell you what the transaction looks like on the seller’s end. They make money hand over fist taking 10% of everything so they can afford to do things like that

eBay is on a transition to retailer from auctioneer. You’ll have seen this in other less subtle ways as a seller as it become more expensive and involved. On the flip side they have begun doing things like this and Black Friday sales where I bought an Xbox s for my son.
In reply to Woody :
I'll bet ebay sales are down for the first quarter so in an attempt to turn this around a couple of weeks before the end of Q1, they take a stab at giving 20%off
It worked in my case. I made the purchase elsewhere and had not considered looking at ebay. However if you see my post above with ebay giving 20% (or $40 in my case) I only saved $26. This highlights that the retail has the prices higher on eBay to offset the costs of eBay. This more tells me that without this intervention by eBay, I would not have bought via eBay.

Up now with a 10% off deal. Not as great but i’ll probably still grab more.
Its doing a good job of getting people to clear out their “watch” list. I was kicking around getting tires for my DD truck. The tires on it have some life left but they are worn bad and they were pretty terrible even when new.
And while typing this, got my notification that my tires shipped. They are from pep boys but through ebay obviously.
Edit: this sale goes until march 12, 8am PST.

Bah, nevermind. The 10% is just from certain sellers. Tried to get a few things but no discount.

Balls. Here I was being good and ignoring GRM yesterday afternoon/evening with work and my wife back in town. That'll show me
Speaking of eBay deals, I ran across this one for $100 off $400 tires/wheels from discount tire direct:
https://www.ebay.com/rpp/6506?&rmvSB=true
Good through March 19.
Verified that with the coupon and free shipping I saved $200 compared to Tire Rack on a set of RE-71R tires. Can't beat that with a stick.
I debated on buying coilovers, found out I need to do more research about my car first. So instead, I bought a massive microSD for my phone.

Looks like its back with a 15% off up to a 50$ discount, only over 25$ purchase. Time to shop!
That explains my rush of big ticket eBay sales today.

Just got a new skil saw, impact wrench and a few other goodies. Discounted on top of using a gift card i had, good stuff.
Well, I'm dumb, but so is ebay.
I had three items I want to buy, and I wasn't going to miss the deal again. So I buy one, and get the discount. Then try to buy the next, but cannot get discount because I already used it (only saved like $3.57 or something). Turns out, I think I had to put all three items in one cart to get the discount on the other two. Oops. Guess I won't be buying the other two now.
I've never put multiple transactions in one cart on eBay, since you pay different sellers it doesn't even really make sense.
Because they are dumb they are losing two transactions today from me. But heads up to anyone else looking to buy. Deal goes until 9 pm Pacific.

Yup, stack up your shopping cart and then apply the code. I purchased from 4 different sellers today with the 1 discounted transaction.
If you can save some good $, just make another temporary ebay account and buy what you wanted.
In reply to Robbie :
Also if you're buying in multiple currency's, like say the Euro or Pound, eBay will force multiple purchases, so plan accordingly.
I guess I'll only be getting the euro center console for my FoRS and wait for another discount for the other stuff (not critical).

Just saved $45 on my challenge car headers and exhaust pipes. Thanks!
I just used it for $50 off a set of tires. Should've pulled the trigger when DTD was having the $100 off sale, but I was too slow. $50 off is better than $0 though!
