My wife and I need new phones. We each have iPhone 6's now, have had them for ~4 or 5 years each. We use them as phones and cameras and to look at cat memes. We want to stick with iPhones.
Are we better off going with a recent refurb? If so, which one?
Or, should we grab the new iPhone SE? I'm really drawn to the SE for the small size. My wife says she wouldn't care that it is small.
None of the new ones, other than the SE, are in the budget.
The new SE is a pretty killer value, it's hard to come up with a reason to recommend anything else honestly. It'll be a solid option for years.
Other than maybe the old SE, which was the last one with a headphone jack ;)
I liked my old SE. Wife still uses it because she wanted to spend her money on a new iPad instead of an 11 like I did.
I like the 11. I have the base model, 64g. The cameras are fantastic. Battery life is fantastic. My hands are small and I do miss the ability to use just one thumb on my SE. But for pictures, watching video, and surfing the goreweb, the bigger (and much better) screen is awesome. Price is not awesome, but my cell provider was running a promotion and gave me a set of Bose Bluetooth buds for free, so it wasn't too crazy.
*edit. Until this thread I didn't know about the new SE. You'd be hard pressed to sell me on the big boy 11 today. Get the SE.

I have a new SE. I wish it weren't so big and was closer to the original SE. Other than that, no complaints. My original SE met its end with a completely shattered screen and a battery that wouldn't hold a charge.
